What is the best part of working at the company?
Employees for sure. At least at our location specifically, they did a really good job at hiring people and I got along with pretty much all my staff. There is also lots of room for advancement with the company, you can move up pretty quick if you fully buy into the culture, and the company is growing very fast. The pay for the sales was great as well, and the commission structure was very fair. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Micromanagement was absolutely relentless. Sales employees were constantly being monitored at all hours of the day. Front desk staff were constantly being spied on and audited by managers daily. Every single day, you felt like you were under a microscope from your managers. Documented conversations and write-ups were frequently threatened daily in order to correct behaviour. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Rather cult like. This isn't really stranger to most big corporate places, but you are constantly being micromanaged to remember their sayings and mottos. They'll introduce a new one every year, expect you to study it in your own time, then quiz you for when the higher ups come to visit. The culture was how I'd describe as "develop or discipline". As discussed before, write ups and documented conversations were frequently used, and every single person, even the minimum wage workers who were just doing this to get through school, were expected to seek development, or were threatened with discipline. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As an Account Representative, you're either touring (showing guests the club, signing people up etc.), prospecting (calling, texting, booking appointments into your calendar), or managing the front desk staff/doing membership adjustments (mostly freezes / cancellations).

I know you may see some negative reviews from disgruntled employees about whatever happened to them and their situation. But please believe me when I tell you that Movati Athletic is the Best place to work and the best job I've ever had!! I've worked customer service type jobs for over 20 years! Various management rolls and everything else you can think of. I've done it all I've and have seen the worse of the worse in work places in many different ways. I started out as a Personal trainer at movati  in 2014 and eventually tried out different rolls from maintenance and custodian to front desk. I'm now ft MEA and I LOVE it!! Management was extremely supportive and was always there to help and support me in anyway! They want nothing more than a positive work environment and will do anything to help the staff succeed in their rolls. It feels like family and we all take pride in our job because of such great management and staff! The members are great too!! If any situation arises, management is ready to help right away. Communication is amazing. If you need time off, they will do whatever they can to accommodate you. Hardest part of the job is probably dealing with the public, which really isn't that hard at all. You'll get amazing training to help guide you in any situation and you'll build you customer service skills and communication. I can go on forever. All in all a great place to work.

Getting to workout there for free but other than that there’s no benefit you will be over worked and micro managed for the little amount of of pay you get 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Your always micro managed and are expected to do way more than what they tell you or is disclosed in your contract , the company has no loyalty or respect for its employees and everything there is decided by how friendly or buddy buddy you are with the manager and not the work you do 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful and full of anxiety , like I said you will be over worked and stressed to the point of burn out 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would open the gym having to do everything like folding towels and making wet towels for yoga and Turing everything on and setting everything in the cafe ( you are expected to clean all of the first floor and run the cafe and the front desk while also greeting everyone by name ) you also have to check and get peoples dirty towels every 30 mins in your nice business  attire  (sometimes there’s feces and blood on the towels and again you also run the cafe so expect getting food on your clothing as well ) the bags are also very heavy 

So while your doing all that the managers take tabs on you and micro manage you to give you a talk and there’s a talk every 10 days

What is the best part of working at the company?
Non managerial coworkers are easy to get along with, regardless of the department.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extreme micromanaging. Greater and greater levels of control over more and more minute tasks. Managerial bullying reframed as professional development. Demanding more and more and more work beyond what any unionized environment would ever tolerate. Burnout as a primary method of managing staff. Write ups that are used as a form of punishment for annoying the manager on any particular day. There are no norms, only hypothetical constructs that they push as reality.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Your fellow coworkers are pretty decent the higher up you go management becomes toxic. So much so that many workers quit. Managers even self-demoted and then left. There is no actual professional development there are only punishments when you do something that a manager finds annoying.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You basically work until you're too tired to even remain awake after your shift. And even then if you are not being perfect 100% of the time, and that includes satiating the occasional desires of a manager, you're still written up and fired.

First of all, yes cleaning at Movati can be fun due to friendly members and some good co-workers. Enjoyed my shifts there from 2-30 to 10:30

The issue comes when you try to start to go to school, Movati almost makes it impossible to do this due to the times you have to work. Also, they will give you a hard time if you have to deal with family issues or something outside related.

Salary is ok, they paid me 16.10 per hour for 40 hours per week, and had benefits that cover dental, health care, and vision care.

Job culture and some co-workers talk about other people, and management hides in the back most of the time. At times there was only one person at the front desk, and five people where in the back office talking leaving that one worker to do all the front desk work. Other parts of Management can be harsh such as micro management and this makes it really hard to do your job when you have someone coming to check on you every five minutes.  

There is no advancement in this company unless you know someone or are coming in from the outside as a new worker applying for  the posting.

My overall thoughts would be to only work part time here and do not clean during the days for the sake of your mental wellbeing.

Movati is an excellent place to work. The environment is great if you love being in a fitness environment. Everyone is positive and strives to give the best possible service to the club, employees and clients. There are so many perks as an employee, from using the gym, attending classes and opportunities to grow with support behind you as long as you are communicative about your desires and goals. Everyone has a great attitude and it’s an amazing place to work and also to work-out! As there are so many options. Therefore a great opportunity to build skills professionally but also personally depending on your professional and health/fitness goals. A positive attitude and outlook in general is always a great asset to have and Movati always reflects that back to me. Management is wonderful in supporting you and there is always a great sense of organization, again, as long as things are communicated effectively. I highly recommend Movati to anyone who feels drawn to it and is willing to show up and provide excellent service to others!

I have spent many years working for various fitness companies in many roles. What Movati does well is a constant focus on what their culture is, and how they can make it better than their competitors. 

Their sales department in both memberships and personal training are ones that promote longevity and not a burn out culture. The front desk is fast paced, and fun, but also allows you to move through the building; so you don't get bored in one spot. 

*The company at its heart focuses on cleanliness from all departments; and as a custodian that can be pretty great! You work as a team and not just an individual.

I have cleaned studios and gym floors many times with the CEO or upper management. Which friends of mine always find shocking.* 

Not easy work; there are constant challenges. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking to stand around for money. I am never bored and it's so nice not being bored! 

  I honestly would say this is one of the best companies I have worked for and that I would recommend anyone to work at Movati.

Great work environment for technicians. Starting pay isn't very enticing but definitely room for growth depending on your work performance.
You don't have management breathing down your neck as long as you do your job in maintaining the facility to proper standards. 
A lot of responsibility required with a large job description, but as long as you do your job/daily up keep and keep up with repairs, it can be fairly easy.
Out sourcing contractors is also optional so you're not expected to be able to fix everything, especially if you are not qualified to do the repair. (Ie. Any major electrical or plumbing work etc)
Great way to learn new things everyday on the job with repairing fitness equipment, maintaining pools/spa equipment etc.

Benefits aren't the best but definetely not the worst either. And we do get paid sick days as well as a free membership.
Co workers are great too, very friendly!

Overall, I enjoy working for this company and would recommend it.  I've worked at a lot of other places and I know first hand employment can be a lot worst elsewhere.

If I could give zero stars for management I would..... They don't care about their employees AT ALL! Condescending, unprofessional, rude, exploitative and only ever offers negative feedback. 

If you work here, you will be expected to manage and solve many (avoidable) issues that arise daily. I say avoidable because they could be easily solved if management payed any attention to the employees' feedback. It is very stressful and there is no satisfaction- neither the members or your supervisors will notice. 

The only time you hear from management is when they are dissatisfied. It's torture. It doesn't matter if you're a good employee or not because you're treated like dirt either way.

They are always firing people because once the novelty of the job wears off, all the employees realize how horrible management is....... it gets really tiring to have people who are payed more than you get upset at you for issues that are used by their lack of communication!!!!! They take no responsibility though, and I doubt they ever will 

I want to quit but I have to wait out this pandemic first #COVID-19

easy job in the beginning. Worked with fun co-workers. Christmas party was crazy, everyone was beyond intoxicated and broke the rules. All managers usually left at around 9pm so it was nice not having people micromanage you.
Terrible management. No one knows what they are doing.
Training was absolutely terrible and useless. Had one shift of training then the next shift I was on my own.
Revolving door there. People are always coming and leaving. Once every 3 weeks there is a new hire and someone quitting/getting fired.
Could work a 9hr shift and only get a 30min break and its unpaid. All breaks are always UNPAID. HR is useless, doesn't know what she's doing either, never helps you.
They expect you to go above and beyond constantly but even when you do, there is no recognition or benefits. they micromanage.
