MTI Community College

The school is currently suspended by PTIB (branch of Ministry of Advanced Education) and has had it's accreditation removed.  New upper management (one person) neglected to follow policies, procedures and accreditation policies for the school and programs therefore jeopardizing the school's status and the future of the current students.  There is no job security.  This organization deserves zero stars overall.  The upper management terminates people on a regular basis and hires less qualified people for lower wages and also blames the previous persons for not doing their job(s).  Very fast turnaround for staff.  The company also has major financial problems and has problems bringing in necessary supplies for students and staff such as toilet paper and paper towels.  They also do not follow employment standards rules and regulations as they neglect to pay individuals their rightful earnings in a timely manner.

This employer had potential to be one of the leading colleges if they invested in their employees.  Although I was only there a short time due to the new president of operations, I was optimistic that there would be updates and positive changes.  It was a very stressful work environment due to the new president who released over 11 full time staff members.

This private college ended up closing its door but while working there , my students embraced their roles and continue to grow their careers as Child and youth workers. I am proud of them.
The hardest part was to prepare class for long hours.
I enjoy teaching groups and my students were amazing.

I loved working for MTI Community College, it was in the field that I wanted to be in for the rest of my life, I love the administrative field it always has its challenges and it was always fun. If I didn't have to move back to Ontario I would of still been there.

Plenty of Variety in the work.  I like working with the students.  
Keeping the equipment up to date was good.  Teaching students and cleaning lap tops and getting ready for next students

The team of instructors got along well and were very supportive of each other.
The students were quite diverse and great.
I felt proud for my students and proud of the work I have done there.

MTI use to be a great place to work until new management. Staff & students enjoyed being there. It had completely changed due to new management and numerous lay offs, Definitely wouldn't ever recommend to work there now.

They are no longer in business. They went out of business about 4 years after I left. They changed management hands and the new ownership was not skilled at running a college.

The classrooms were of small numbers which in turn gave us more one-on-one time with the professors. Family-like environment. Reasonable hours.
