It was a great place to work, they had a fantastic program for employees to work from home with all the tools required to communicate and work with the teams across the nation.
Learned how to get the most out of the smallest investment (Telecommunications in Canada has not had a good year, outside of cell that is). Management was understanding and gave a fairly free reign to get things done. 
The biggest challenge was communications and expectations. With sales this meant saying that we could not get something done in a week (that had a listed turn around time of 90 days), we were able to work with them and explain the steps and therefor the time required.
The most enjoyable part of the job was getting a project launched and seeing the successful impact in the first 90 days. Taking an existing process that was not working and turning it around along with turning around the temperament of any of the groups involved (turning nah Sayers into happier and fully engaged employees).

MTS/Allstream is a great company to work for, my 41 years of service speak to that. Full of challenges demanding and exciting. 

I had a career in accounting and then i decided to take a new challenge in Customer Service and I learned  how to deal with operations side of the company. It give me a total new view of the company. 
The hardest part of the job is making sure all the customers are satisfied at the end of the day and leave with a positive experience.

As a project coordinator you will be responsible for providing voice and data services for numerous companies from small business to corporate companies.  Each aspect of the installation process is controlled and monitored by field technicians, testers and designers.  You are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the installation process is completed successfully and working as per the clients requirements.  Managers are there to assist and escalate issues whenever required.  All direct managers, supervisors and directors and friendly, approachable and helpful.  Great place to work.

My typical day at work are:
- looking forward working with my coworker and the customer.
- Following up daily with customer for any update, voicemail and email.
- Following up with internal group for any missing information, and providing updates.
- I do work with the best group and management, we all have meeting once a week to talk about issue, new process, and offer help if needed.
- The hardest part of the is leaving my friends at work when my company downsized.
- The best part of the job is going to work each day and knowing I am helping the customer, and seeing the company grow.

Great place to work; as a learning ground for me and provided many opportunities. It has great values, great people and was the right size of company.

Experienced staff who are very generous with their knowledge and a fair management team who were very easy to work with. I will always considered my time at Allstream one of the best job and life experiences I've ever had.

Changes in the company are undesirable for many of the existing employees. All corporate, and no people. I considerate my self as a good worker , strongly focused on the tasks assigned to me, and do not participate with any politics taking place in the office. I 'm to report to a manager , otherwise remain and attempt a healthy balance between work and home.

I enjoyed working at Altream it's was great at the time.  I have made some great connections that have remained in touch with.

When I worked their they were in the process of figuring out their standing in the market space.  I know they have been sold since and it's has deteriorated since my tenure

Answer phones, to help clients with their internet connectivity.  Made use of databases, online research, employee training and courses, to solve customers internet connectivity problems.

Unfortunately this business never got over being a crown-corporation, and it shows.

Business solutions and polices are often poorly conceived, and poorly implemented, overall treatment of employees below management level is sub-par.

Good place to work, good people working there... never had a successful year as a company. Expect layoff's once or twice a year. The final year that I was there we were successful after eliminating 25% of our work force.
