Mad Mexican

I was hired by the company and promised many things however that did not happen. They are very sketchy and they hired me and then said they did not want to offer me a position after I asked them questions regarding the documents they wanted from me as they were very specific and I was never asked to provide in this detail before to any other job, plus I know the rules and requirements as I have family members that work in law and in the government of Ontario. Overall extremely disappointing and unprofessional company, they have also sent me company material and all of them I could see spelling and grammar mistakes and even simply putting phrases together that do not make any sense, this within the first look of those documents. I truly hope they start respecting people and their employees because if this continues they will definitely never reach their full potential and fail. I would not recommend this company to anyone, not a friend nor enemy. If you respect yourself and you are a professional please stay away, it’ll be a waste of your time! 

Mad Mexican is a great place for individuals who would like to break into food manufacturing industry and learn the ins and outs of manufacturing whole some organic foods that true to the taste. The company is managed by people who are some of the very best in the industry and know what they're doing. At times they're Issues you would face like often being required to work over time in order for the company to fulfill orders on time which can affect peoples schedules. They're times when you are required to perform physically straining and mentally demeaning work which can take a toll on your body and mind in which can be good for people who like challenges. Salary wise it wont be enough to cover the cost of transportation and living expenses especially if you have just started out but its good for people who need something just to get by. All and all this company has great work culture and continues to progress thus make great strides in the food manufacturing industry.

A typical day at works consist of me consulting with my floor supervisor and asking what tasks and what prep needs to be done for the day, checking the list and seeing what I know how to make so we can divide the tasks between the team working in the moment so the list can be finished quickly, besides the tasks its cleaning some dishes when the station gets too crowded and putting away the dishes that are clean. Everyone is very helpful, communicative and proactive with ways to simplify a task and get things done more efficiently. I enjoy the confidence the floor managers and higher ups that they place onto a newer team member like myself because it allows me to be myself and find my own rhythm to work in tandem with what they teach me. 

The job overall, I really enjoyed, but there are so many tensions and bad management decisions that affect everyone. I feel like it matters more to make money thoughtlessly than to take care of their employees. The owner should take matters to his own hands, and not let the manager take care of everything. No one knows how the company made it this far with the amount of bad decisions they make.. I guess its luck. No effort in hiring new staff, but pushing employees to work hard to make up for it, not fair. 

Mad Mexican is a great place to work. Like any company that goes through growth, there will be challenges; yet you can use these as an opportunity to grow professionally.

Management cares about employees and is constantly rooting for their success. They understand that your work is needed, and value all your efforts.

The environment allows you to imagine yourself working here for a few years at least. Lots of potential for career growth, as there are many different things to do.



There are many opportunities to explore and advance. Since the company and the team are still growing, yet that might not be for everyone. For many they find it as not an enticing point ( they prefer the ultra structured working environment.   
In many occasions you would have to take the initiatives to finish certain tasks. In the mean time there is an access for support from leadership ( including the ownership ) when help and coaching are needed. No micro management yet collaboration and open to ideas. One last thing ( sense of belonging ). such as having a birthday celebrations for employees.
     

Mad Mexican is like a family. Management and immediate supervisors are supportive and care about the well-being of the team, especially when we are at events and farmers' markets where multiple factors can create challenges. 

Like any other company, results are expected from us, but the Mad Mexican products, the restaurant, and the brand itself are well recognized in Southern Ontario, so expect to receive acceptance and compliments from retail stores, vendors at the farmers' markets and customers. 


I started at Mad Mexican as an Administrative assistant and thanks to the support of the management I was able to grow and reach the Office Manager position. 

I had always the support of the Management and the resources needed to succeed. The culture of the company made me feel welcome from day one. 

I truly thanks all Mad Mexican Team to help me with my professional and personal growth. Wish you nothing but the best. 

On top of that, the product is delicious. Great work experience!

The workers work so hard in awful heat conditions and never get raises or incentive to be better.

Constant criticism.  Hard labour

Work environment harsh.  Culture is not bad.
