Magnificent Minds

Working here was a really great way to get experience doing ABA in a classroom. The classroom set up made routines easier and helped me figure out the kinds of skills my clients would need in a community setting (like their local school). The school is busy and the team works extremely hard. There was a very consistent team in my classroom for the whole time I worked there, which makes a huge difference (high turn over is a nightmare in other places). The environment feels like a school so there are some limitations with this (no 1:1 learning rooms really). The supervisors are mostly long term staff who have worked their way up which speaks to the culture and opportunities for growth and I always felt like I could be challenged to take on more if I asked. Supervisors were extremely supportive (sometimes overly so). Overall, the people who don’t like working here are generally just nice people who weren’t a great fit. I would recommend the place.

Magnificent Minds provides excellent ABA and education services for children and adolescents with various specialized needs. The Teachers are compassionate, creative, and patient. They also work very collaboratively with the ABA Team to support integration. 

The ABA Team are supported by the director and supervisors, to provide training and supervision opportunities for everyone. Staff working with clients are offered multiple opportunities for training and learning. The supervisors are extremely thoughtful of client AND staff needs when assigning caseloads. 

Magnificent Minds is a great place to build skills and grow.  They offer a lot of flexibility for time off and work with staff to build a schedule that will work best for them. 

This is a great place to work with passionate professionals and provide amazing service to students and families. 

A typical day is busy and really depends on your caseload and clients. Some days go smoothly, and some days are more tiring. What made the job better for me was the people, my coworkers were kind, supportive, and easy to work with, which made a big difference on busy days. The supervisors were approachable and would step in when needed, especially during crises.

The schedule follows the school year, which means there are a lot of holidays and breaks. Working hours are usually around 9:00–3:30pm, and the management team is very flexible with scheduling if you need to adjust your shifts. There are also opportunities to take on more responsibility if you’re willing. Overall, it’s meaningful work, especially when you see the clients making progress.

Although I understand the turn over rate of this field is generally high, a lot of new staff are not qualified to work with higher needs clients. Meaning a few certain staff members who are capable of working with those clients are always scheduled with them but not getting paid fairly. They get burnt out quickly. 

The supervisory team is over worked, and the upper management team isn’t supportive. No WSIB supported (they never responded to the WSIB) and there are so many Jewish holidays and Winter & Summer break that are unpaid. There’s no benefits except for 2 days of personal days (no sick days). 

It wasn’t always like this and there are pros for sure, but I don’t recommend working here as it’s not sustainable especially when there’s no benefits and no supports on mandatory unpaid holidays and breaks. 



The rumors you've heard about this place are true, stay away. It really just seems like a cash cow for the directors, they are hardly there and they have too many clients for how many staff are employed. The senior team is overworked. High turnover rate among therapists. Toxic and unfriendly workplace culture, you can hear a pin drop in the lunchroom. 

Working here will take a toll on your mental health. ITs here are always overworked and underpaid especially the ones who are experienced and capable of working with challenging clients. Though the supervisory team is supportive for the most part, it does not help much as the CEO is not supportive at all and does not care about the feedback she receives from ITs. The CEO also at times uses punitive measures disguised as "support" to control the ITs. Avoid working here as an IT if you can.

Overall it was my honour working at MM. Not a bot lol. There were stressful moments but my managers were really supportive and always on the floor supporting us whenever we need help, which is truly amazing. I have learnt a lot from them regarding how to get along with clients and run programs. 

My colleagues were also wonderful. We would help each other pull through hard sessions with clients. They have made my work much easier as we always work as a team to help our kiddos do better.  

Working at MM allowed me to both learn and deal with children with ASD, learn each child's and family's history and teach and learn in the process is something I will be grateful for all my life. MM is a great job opportunity if you consider growing up and getting to know the ASD field. All my colleagues were respectful and kind, and my bosses and supervisors were great. They are a very empathetic and supportive team. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to have worked at MM.

A collaborative place where teachers and behavioural therapists (and OTs, SLPs, STs) support students (mostly with autism) in a class setting. It is definitely a fast-paced place and ITs are asked to teach flexibly. There is training in the trauma informed model. If you’re high energy and willing to learn you will do well here. Lots of supervision, mostly hourly roles but hours are consistent and flexible based on preference. 

The team values growth in its employees and prioritizes internal promotions when doable (I saw it firsthand); the training is sufficient and delivered by supervisors. Overall, this is a good place to build your skills, connect with others in the field, and learn about ABA in a school. There is a lot of support from supervisors and colleagues, which in my experience has been lacking in other environments. This definitely a high-energy, fast-paced job, but very rewarding; good self-care skills are a must.
