I worked for Magnum briefly and resigned.  I found Magnum office staff to aggressive. If you need a sick day you are hounded by texts and phone calls even though you had followed thier sick day protocol.  The area manager has no experience in the security field. I had a co worker who didn’t do their job so I informed the manager three times and nothing was done. Magnum staff say the care about you but it’s all lip service. Co workers say that we are a team only when it’s convenient for them! Staff constantly late getting to site on daily basis and again nothing done! I have been in the security industry for twenty years and I have to say this is the worst company I have ever worked for. Your grilled for taking any sick time off which is your right and the law protects your rights! Office staff ie managers lie to you constantly. The uniforms never fit right. Uniforms are ugly! Who decided that white uniform shirts was ever a good idea?  If this company hired men and not boys for the office staff then only then this company may have a chance. My over all view of this company is like most if not all security companies are the same but this one I would never recommend! Go where the money is the company never matters they all lie they are all cheap and like all security companies the only care about their bottom line ie the contract you don’t matter unless they need a body at the desk. Also if you religious or of a different faith maybe this isn’t the company for you. When you enter thier office you can clearly see a crucifix on their office walk which I found to be unprofessional. Keep your beliefs to yourself the office is no place for religion and may offend people of different faiths this is Canada after all!!

Like all Security companies, this one is a very unprofessional family run business. They mainly do construction sites, with some condo work. Assignment on a construction site is horrible, with no proper toilet or drinking water facilities. Many sites "require" duty standing only, sitting not permitted! Guards are also not allowed to come inside even during harsh winter conditions. Management was a nightmare. Site Supervisors communication skills were abysmal, along with English speaking comprehension. This company will treat you like expendable garbage; you are just a body. Pay advances do not exist, and fair compensation for your work is laughable. No training at all and you must constantly check your paystubs because they will constantly short you hours if you are not on top of things. They will harass you if you call in sick and trying to take a vacation is next to impossible. Do yourself a favor and apply elsewhere.

A typical day at work: The office can be very busy, and dealing with customers and clients is a regular occurrence. However, the work environment is very upbeat and happy. 

What you learned: I learned to multi task, and work with others in a team setting in an office. I also learned to work closely alongside clients. 

Management: Management is very great, they are very efficient and understanding. They focus on working well in a positive work environment. 

The hardest part of the job: During the early mornings, the office can be very busy. I believe multi-tasking as a secretary was one of the hardest parts of the job, however it was very do-able and enjoyable. 

The most enjoyable part of the job: Working alongside clients and my co-workers in a team setting was the most enjoyable part.

This is a family owed and operated company. It is a great place for people new to Toronto and new to security. They care about their employees and treat them fairly. You are not just a number like at other larger security companies. Plenty of work in the construction industry if you are willing to work and are not lazy.
The owner Ben does not put up with any nonsense. If you respect the company and the job you are given they they respect you. 


working, directing cars in the cold, people yelling at you and not being even give a proper uniform (i had to wear my own clothing, all I got was a yellow vest) was a big caution sign for me and as a result i did not work here more then 3 weeks. i was able to get job right away but its very insane pressure here, they are calling you all the time non stop because other people are booking off (i do my ft hours 40)

my typical day at work is very busy and helping client to produce materials,clothes and food them.l  learned how to work with different clients not withstanding color,culture and back ground,we just have to respect each other.Manage all resources at work place.Workplace is very friendly but not always.The hardest part of the job is working with client who,are very aggressive,angry,and using words that not welcome.The most enjoyable part of the job is seen staffs working together as a part team.

A family owned and operated company. They are a construction site guard placement company that is branching out into condos. They are slowing gaining opportunities for front desk placement.
The owner Ben has been in the business 30 plus years and is very hands on.  he is available to speak with staff but at the same time does not put up with any nonsense. They value hard work and dedication.
People who mess about  and do not take the job seriously will be replaced.
Great place for new Canadians. Lots of work if you are willing.

We started working here with a friend and at first started working at a condo but then was moved to a warehouse and finally to an outdoor site, it was very cold and the duties were very boring. My main issue was the cold and when I told the bosses about it nothing happened and i had to complain again, finally was told that I was hired to work and they can send me anywhere and if I didnt like it there was no longer a place for me here.

Its a good company but they don't give you any benefits and very little money. So I think look for other job too while working here. Where I am working now days is a great place nice workplace culture. I am learning many new things like CCTV camera operating, working in stressed situations and solving problems. Best part of my job is that we get free meal. I enjoy meeting different people and working with them.

Family Run security company that has been in business for over 30 years.
This is a typical security company. However, unlike other security companies I have worked for these guys are upfront and very honest.
They do not make promises they cannot keep. If you want to work they will find work for you. They value dedication and a strong work ethic.
Yes, I would recommend this company.
