The staff team is genuinely supportive and collaborative, transforming the workplace into a welcoming and enjoyable environment.

Coming to work at Manitobah Mukluks was never a chore; it was something I excitedly anticipated. My manager was phenomonal, always understanding and supportive. Honest mistakes were met with compassion rather than punishment, provided that effort and a willingness to improve were evident. This supportive approach fostered personal growth and a positive, motivated team.

My experience here as a full time seasonal customer service employee was alright. The management acted nice at first but soon came favouritism. They only keep the 3 managers all year round and hire/fire everyone else seasonally because they only have demand when their products are on sale for Black Friday and Boxing Day. They would have us lie and tell people we couldn’t fix their Pom poms on their boots just because they think they’re such a big company and shouldn’t have to deal with that. The best they would let us do is offer a coupon code so they can buy a new pair? Also try to hide the fact that most of their products are made overseas in Vietnam. The only upsides to this job is paid lunches quite often and gift card draws for Black Friday/Boxing Day.

incredible experience. i worked with plenty of charismatic people. Most days felt like they weren't long enough. I loved the team i worked with. I love the company, they really work hard to make you feel valued as a worker but also as a person in general. Plenty of times, the head honcho guys would come in first hand and appreciate the workers, jump right in to seeing things needing to be done and never once did they ever make you feel under valued, rushed and disrespected. I will always come back and recommend this company to customers or job seekers. 10/10.

if you are an experienced manager stay away from this company. They are unorganized, will not train you properly on anything, you are basically on your own after the online onboarding. You will be mistreated and sworn at by the assistant manager who lacks any leadership or professional skills. A very clicky environment and the head of stores will undermine your team behind your back. They claim to have 7 ethics that they stand by but do not implement them. Horrible place to work stay away!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Just being seasonal. And eventually a free pair of mukluks.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No manager at one point. No direcrion. And the login was a pain. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Selling beading but not allowed to wear laynards? 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s not a fast food place and you have to act like it is.

Provide leadership, management, merchandising and supervision of sales to multiple Pop-Up stores and Costco locations.  Hire complete management and  sales teams for entire region, open and setup 5 stores within a 4 week period. Ensure inventories and day to day store operations are maintained.  Provide training in building customer relationships, special events, in store training, and meeting business sales plans.

If you are a new retail employee that is interested in indigenous arts or culture, Manitobah is a great company for you. The compensation for retail is amazing and truly representative of what can and should be done in the industry.

The only negative is most of the stores are pop-ups which makes long-term employment hard as I really enjoyed working at Mantiobah, but with our pop up closing down it has left everyone without jobs which is unfortunate.

Great experience. Lots of benefits came with this job. You were paid above minimum wage. 18$ hrly / 40hrs weekly. Lots of employee credits. Only thing I hope they do better next time is higher qualified people for Store Managers. They were very complicated too work with. Unorganized. Other than that it was the best retail experience iv ever had.

Loved the vision of the company.
Management could improve, but it wasn't the worst.
Hiring people with indigenous status was a great plus because felt seen and acknowledged.
