The work environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on safety and productivity. Employees are expected to work together and support each other.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day includes preparing the workstation, following safety procedures, completing production tasks, and working with the team to meet daily targets.

Started as an apprentice to get hours for my trade. Was put on other work duties that did not pertain to what I was hired for. Supervisor was terrible and didn't know half of what he was doing and was very lazy, warehouse foreman likes to walk around and yell at people. When the apprenticeship officer showed up, there would suddenly be work available in our respective trades. Do not work here if you are looking to learn your trade. Pay is terrible and the raises they offer are insulting. I was there for over a year and got a 16 cent an hour raise. Ok for a 12 year old paper boy I guess. 

Very disorganized.

A lot of good people work at Maple Leaf,  but management is horrible. They don't care about anyone, there's very little room for advancement, it's the most repetitive and mundane job on earth. There is comrodery in the shared misery, but that whole place has a dark cloud hanging in the air. Pest problems, insane amounts of dust to the point you can't see from one side of the plant to the other... I was sick all the time working there and had multiple lung infections.
Job security is okay, unless you miss more than a day a year. The pay isn't bad, but it also isn't worth being treated like trash all the time. 

I really enjoyed my experience at MLH there is always new learning opportunities and it’s easy to advance if you’re a hard worker. Management is great, very lovely people. The benefits are great! Only downside is very long hours (44h/week) which is pretty exhausting and overtime the toll it takes on your body. You also work with some real weirdos but what can you expect? Also being a woman sexism and harassment is a bit of a factor depending on who you are working with. Most of the people are great :)

a day at work would be very busy,ive learned a vast amount of experience in the electrical trade,management has big room for improvement, got along well with all my co-workers,my job was challenging ,but enjoyed the physical aspects of it,this type of work requires being physical fit,and signifent brain power to succeed at this type of career!

Securing the property is what I did as well as receive supplies. My manager was good, but most other managers (white hats) not so great. They do not value there employees, you are just another worker bee and expected to be just that. DO NOT THINK FOR YOURSELF. 
Overall I enjoyed my position with the company. I only left for more money. People on the pay scale that should have been lower then I made more money.

Nothing add to previously words ! Poison company

Garbage days every day , you should just work hard for penny

Normal duties required to reviewed job sheets for status and for upcoming subcontractor scheduling requirements

Enjoyable part of the job was being able to work with an employer that has enormous amount of experience with construction and the successful running of a business

The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to learn new things about the electrical trade as a whole, troubleshooting both general everyday electrical problems to things that make your head want to spin from how confusing it can be, but getting to work through it and feel that sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

It is very hard and demanding work, harder than other construction jobs I've worked but it also depends where you are in the plant. Despite the difficulty and pace of work, it's also one of the lowest paying construction jobs offered at the time for a school placement. The managers in some parts are great and in others abysmal.
