I joined the company with a certain set of responsibilities, and within a short time those responsibilities completely changed. The high turnover of staff and lack of structure means that the duties of those who left are dumped on to those who stay. 

There is no meaningful onboarding or proper training, and there doesn't seem to be any work policies in place, which makes hara$$ment highly likely to occur, not just from the CEO but also from other coworkers. HR is useless and can't help with anything like complaints or improving workplace culture.

The only employees that thrive and excel in this position are those who suck up to the CEO to hide their incompetence and who have no morals. The ones who are actually competent and care about their fellow coworker tend to leave within a year. Lots of cliques that form around what language you speak or what region you're from.

Work environment is very unstable and shifting every day. Most people you'll work with will be amazing: friendly, helpful, dedicated. Salaries are quite good, basically if you can prove your worth you'll be rewarded fairly. Office is quite chill to be in, no micromanagement so you can arrive/leave early provided you do all the work needed. There is little to no training/onboarding but you'll be expected to know everything, and find the best way to utilize yourself on your own.
The main problem is the CEO. Any interaction with him is bound to be extremely stressful as you never know whether you'll get praised for something insignificant or get terminated the same day for something you haven't even thought about being a problem. It felt like a russian roullete ever since I needed to closely cooperate with him.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ability to learn so many facets of the business from growing gherkins to the whole production of the finished product and shipping to customers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Time zones when working in different parts of the globe.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fast moving results driven, needs self starters who are motivated and self driven.

Working on a projects and interacting with various employees who are based in several parts of the world.

Health benefits and great colleagues 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Micromanagement from the owner, no clear job description or responsibilities. The only power relies on the owner and he doesn’t even go to the office. Lack of a management team. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If you want to be in the “circle” you must have a 24/7 availability. People are terrified of the owner and absolutely nothing gets done without his approval, but he is always traveling and has a full schedule.

Working here is fast-paced with high ambiguity, and anyone coming here will have an opportunity work on different projects. It's Toronto so you will be working with lots of different people from around the world, a lot of newcomers. There are always new people joining, sometimes work can be stressful but overall it was a good place for me to learn and get experience. Yes, the company is not for everyone as the culture is not a typical Canadian work culture. But being able to gain valuable experience was worth it to me. The colleagues are nice and most are pretty helpful. 

This place is very toxic and will eat away at your mental health. They get you in the door by offering a good salary but once you’re in the environment changes and the employees are miserable from being treated so badly. 

I have been working at MQED for about a year and a half and I just cans say: So far, so good! Of course, there’s room for improving, but… where isn’t?
On the bright side, it has a nice location and facilities, peers are nice to me and I see opportunities to grow in the company.

The company pays well, is located in Liberty Village

A terrible culture of fear and intimidation, non-compliance with any decency or even the ESA. High expectations without any training / guidance

A climate of fear, knots in your stomach, something out of Charles Dickens

unorganized and pull rug out from you at any given moment. not fun. very self directed positions with little input from superiors until it's too late. stress and no respect for staff. they treat staff like stupid worthless rats 

Good place to dive deep into the pickle industry.
Good place for growing knowledge in the food manufacturing industry in North America.
Very limited direction/leadership  from CEO
