My experience with Mark Anthony Group was deeply disappointing. The workplace culture felt very toxic, with poor communication and a lack of meaningful support that seemed to come from the top down.
The company appeared more willing to repeatedly hire and train new staff than to invest in retaining, developing, and supporting existing employees. Although wine experience and training were presented as important in the job description, that expertise did not seem to be genuinely valued in practice. Many employees had little to no wine knowledge and were instead coached to sell a polished story rather than provide guests with accurate, informed information about the product.
For such a well known company operating in the wine industry, I expected stronger standards around employee education, product knowledge, transparency, and workplace culture. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Middle management are ineffective and brown-nosers are rewarded greatly for mediocre and subpar work. 

This company has some of the most clunky communication I've ever experienced - from multiple hour-long meetings a day, to email chains a mile long, they seem adverse to streamline and actively resist change.

The "executive leadership team" are braggadocios and out of touch.  It is in extremely bad taste to post about your helicopter rides on social media while also telling staff they are spending too much on travel expenses for their cars.

HR has done a terrible job at an organizational chart - frankly, no one knows what any other person does or where responsibility lies. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is printing money and well established in the industry.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor management in the IT department

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Went from a fun, hard-working startup mentality to growing pains into a corporate governed entity

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, more work to do than you have time for, too many meetings because everyone is on several teams

They don’t care.   They just want to please the billionaire.   That’s it full stop.   Questionable ethics.   Some very very good gems in all of the murk however.   Especially in Ops Management.   HR is terrible, especially at corporate.   They really don’t care.

Representing an authentic, prestige wine company was honorable
and sampling and learning about their world-class port folio.
I gained insight into the importance of the agricultural and brand marketing aspect of the wine industry

The management tier at MAG is terrible; no one knows what they're doing and they create social classes amongst subordinates. They always flex how much money the company has, but severely underpays staff. I would avoid this company at all costs, especially if you're looking for a full time career.

-Terrible management, 
- unprofessional hiring steps with empty promises,
- "they ask rest then expect soap" level hiring process, 
- noisy room with 20+ disrespectful developers, 
- in between management is your voice to upper management but "no voice at all"

Great culture to work around, Great staff "fringe" benefits if you like wine. The owner is the best employee of his company. Most of the managers are easy so deal with. The staff are nice and willing to help others out.

Fun during good times, not the last 2 years. Startup mentality despite being big. If you get results you can progress. Hire/promote from within. Great people. But because it's a desirable company within the industry, base compensation is not even close to competitive.

the company is privately owned with upper management that is lost with no clear direction on certain brands. what makes it worse is if youre paired with a manager who doesnt know how to manage people which leads to high turnover. avoid this company.
