a typical day at work would be different everyday. I ran the business accounts so, I would check to see if any accounts could be filled and completed and if completed I would call the person to let them know they can pick up. Then I would be assigned to a specific spot and make sure it stayed well stocked and tidy.

I learned how to fold clothes to a business standard, learned about different types of shoes, I learned how to run business accounts, and to also work on a team.

The management was great, they worked with the staff to make sure everyone was happy and things were to par.

The hardest part of the job was to put together business accounts as they took forever to do.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to help people find things they needed and to also do the end of day money count.

Always replenishing merchandise, setting up displays according to corporate mandate, helping customers locate product either at our store or at another store.  Complete online orders and ship via Purolator.  Processed company accounts for uniforms and safety footwear, educated store staff on proper procedures, as well created a workwear binder for all of the company accounts processed in our location specifically and had basic knowledge for newer or unfamiliar staff in order to ensure the customers transaction went smoothly.  Opened and closed the store, counting floats for multiple tills, did bank deposit as well as coin orders.  Placed orders for store stationary through Grand & Toy.

-Cleaning and tidying 

I have learned a lot about retail and how much really goes into having a business that people want to shop at.

My co-workers are amazing, each and everyone of them will do their best to make the customers happy and feel welcomed.

The hardest part of my job is dealing with unhappy customers, unfortunately this is going to happen in any retail business, the best we can do is try to understand the customer, and also try to compromise if there are any issues.

The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to help customers find what they are looking for, and make sure they leave Marks with a smile on their face.

a typical work day at marks is pretty good. Most days can be super slow. 
I have learned a lot about different types of clothing (carhartt,Dakota..etc.) 
when it comes to the management there I'm not really pleased with it. Our manager is very rude most times either ignoring us or just being rude when we ask a question. Our assistant manager is the exact opposite though, he is always happy and willing to help. if he is to busy he nicely lets us know.
the hardest part of the job id say is making sure the manager is happy and getting all the product that he wants out.
the most enjoyable part of the job is the employees I work with. we all are out going and get along great.

Mark's is a good company, with good management, and quality clothing. Although, it has almost no benefits, usually not great hours, and corporate expects a lot more of you than they let you believe when you are first hired. It is okay if you are looking for a part time job or a temporary thing, but it is not ideal for long term employment, unless you are looking at management. You are a cashier, sales clerk, fitting room attendant, stock person, janitor, and therapist to distraught customers in the run of a day, all while getting paid minimum wage.

Marks work wearhouse was a very stressful job. All the stock was messy and difficult to find, and the management was often blameful of situations you have no control over. If the store did not make a certain amount of money that day, it was your fault, apparently. Also your safety is not at all their concern when it comes to a power outage, someone stealing, and other things. The co-workers are all nice and very understanding. Do not work here unless you love having an alcoholic boss who treats you like you are his dog.

I learned a lot from marks. I learned many social skills and learned how to stock shelves and do inventory, and open up at the start of the day. My most enjoyable part of work was the people I was surrounded around who supported me through my first job and helped me with difficult situations. The hardest part of the job was just starting out and getting used to where everything was, and my surroundings and having to go to other coworkers asking, but it all worked out in the end

There are few managers who follow through with what they say they are going to do. But those few are definitely great to know. Understaffed for the amount of work that is expected in a day and when it's time to do the seasonal change overs, they are pretty disorganized. Because managers are overworked, they tend to take it out on the employees and focus on knocking the feet out from under those who do their jobs without being told to while allowing the others to do as they please.

Open and closed store.   Assisted team in meeting or exceeding daily, weekly, or monthly sales goals on each shift.  Helped customers find sizes, styles, etc, and completed on line orders as requested by customers.  Balanced cash registers, and prepared bank deposits if it was closing shift.  Made sure store standards were followed, with cleanliness, and stock being put on the floor.  Changed displays

Receive freight every morning. Process incoming freight by unpacking, examining contents, and accountable for whats missing. All pieces inputed into computer system manually. Find storage for freight, easier said than done on most days. Excellent staff and management. 
Furthered my time management skills as well as people management skills. Co-workers were easily the best part of the job while the hardest part was technology was not up to date by a long shot.
