I worked as a Project Manager with Martushev and honestly had a great experience. Seeing some of the reviews, I felt it was only fair to share my side as well.

Construction isn’t a 9-to-5 desk job. It’s a tough, fast-paced industry with long days, changing priorities, and constant problem-solving. If you’re looking for an easy ride, this probably isn’t the industry for you. But if you’re willing to work hard, take ownership, and learn, you’ll gain experience that many people don’t get elsewhere.

What stood out to me was the amount of effort owners put into keeping work moving and keeping people employed. Most people only see their own position, but they don’t see the pressure and responsibility that comes with making payroll, managing projects, chasing work, and making sure there’s food on everyone’s table. That’s not always easy, especially in construction.

Were there challenges - Of course, every construction company has them. But I worked with a lot of hardworking people, learned a tremendous amount & was trusted with significant responsibility throughout my time there.

No workplace is perfect, but from my experience, the opportunities were there for those willing to step up and put in the effort.

Left a solid company to come and work for these guys which was basically solely salary driven. Realized pretty quickly that was a mistake. Didn’t last too long and was butting heads with another manager they hired who in my opinion was very forgetful and slow/under-qualified, ended up getting let go in what I can only describe as the most short noticed unprofessional way I’ve ever encountered. Don’t expect any notice or level of care from these guys, they will drop you in a heartbeat on a Friday afternoon. Found out just a couple months after I was let go they also fired the guy I was butting heads with as well. They have since then also lost even more office staff PM’s/PC’s so I can’t even begin to imagine how much more chaotic it’s like over there right now. 

Save yourself the trouble and spend the extra time looking for a decent company or renegotiating with your current one. Don’t fall for the extra money/salary they offer. Working for these guys will likely leave a stain on your resume and professional career. 

When I started things were great for someone with no experience. Most coworkers and the supervisors were great and available to help out however they could. One supervisor left and the other was inexplicably replaced. The guys that were put in were not helpful at all. Anytime they were asked questions they would either deflect and not give an answer or get angry to get you to stop asking. They made very shady decisions and expected the drivers to take all the risks without backing them up at all. I met 7 new drivers that were hired before breakup and on the last day before going home they let 15 other people go without cause. Hard to say there is a shortage of work if your still hiring people....

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good pay, and on time. Owners are friendly and always take time to talk to you.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress, it is a pleasure to go to work

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly and family based. I find it a good place to work!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I get up at 2:00 am and get rdy for work. Drive to site do what I am hired to do. Go home and don’t here from Forman or bosses unless there is something different in line for me to do.

They're a bit disorganized but a little gong isn't always bad. 
Steady work and the machines range from new to pretty beat up but you'll have that on those big jobs.
Seems like they overwork the foremen so they're a little edgy at times, but usually pretty good people and the self care camp was pretty decent.
No big problems for me that season but the 6 on 1 off can make it difficult to go home! 

lots of experienced group of people in the company as it grew into oilfield projects as well as the logging industry. as safety played a big roll in these fields. we got to learn  lots of the basic fundamentals and structure of the safety CORE. the hardest part of the job was putting my own safety guidelines within my company. the most part is i got it all done.

As Administrative assistant on a typical day I would have many miscellaneous task that taught me many new valuable skills. I learned how to fluently use excel and it made me become much more organized. the hardest part of the job is every day brings something new but that is also one of the most enjoyable parts it keeps you on your toes.

Worked for this company for two years, has been lots of changes due to expansion into the civil world, management for the civil division was very poor and unfortunately it took a long time for ownership to see and deal with it. Good core group of people, if you work hard, you are rewarded well, if your looking for someplace to coast, you won't last. 

I was an operator in the forestry division, lots of work, worked every day unless we got too much rain. Not working Sundays was annoying as I wasn't local but I got used to it. Forman was good, mechanic onsite was great and equipment was in decent shape.

a typical day at work as an administrative assistant consisted of various activities daily. This job allowed me learn many different skills due to the vast amount of activities an administrative assistant can be tasked with. Good organization and prioritizing task is key.
