Mary Kay

Mary Kay is a direct selling personal business.  I learned a lot in my years "working." I am no longer pursuing a full time wage with Mary Kay and maintain my consultant status for personal use and a few loyal customers who will not go to anyone else.

That is one of the beautiful things about Mary Kay, each person can decide for themselves how much time and effort to put into their personal business.  What you put in, is exactly what you will get out.

The years I chose to work hard I earned cars and Sr Directorship. I made a good wage and was able to spend time with family and friends.

I learned how to talk to, deal with, and read people. I perfected my ability to coach and train individuals and groups (at their level, not mine). As well as determining each individual's knowledge, skills, and abilities to help mold them into performing the best they could at their desired level of business.

The hardest thing for me personally was time management, this is not to say I could not manage my time, just that with the MK value of Faith first, Family second, and Career third, my faith and family took up too much of my time.  I found that I work better with someone to answer to...

... I always said that I had the BEST boss and the WORST boss ever in Mary Kay... I was my own boss.

Mary Kay is a Skincare brand with opportunity for network marketing and building an individual business/customer base. 

I am continuously learning that really being able to talk to people and show the value of the products is among some of the other qualities needed to become successful as an entrepreneur. 

Dealing with all the different personality types sometimes can be a little challenging but compromising and being understanding at all times is what has allowed me really start this. 

I am still currently working at this , just starting.

Typical month: Host 2  small skincare/beauty parties/ week & one big one during the month. Skincare consultations with clients. & makeup/ colour matching.

Management is great.  My Mary Kay Sales Director was awesome.  I learned a lot of things with her.
Workplace culture is excellent since they have every year conferences and Director Debuts.
Hardest part of job is delivering products since I do not have a car and going to the meetings.
The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting fascinating women and pampering them with skin care and cosmetics.

Prepared products and organized get togethers with women so that they could get to know more about the products
Performed cosmetic demonstrations
Provided assistance to clients in choosing products
Placed orders and ensured delivery
I learned that presentation and patience is very important
My co-workers were great. We were a small team but a good one.
Management was the best that I could ask for
The hardest part of the job was arranging makeup parties that suited everyone's schedule
The most enjoyable part of the job was providing beauty products for clients that I believe in

I love Mary Kay's product and I like to meet new people from different background. At the beginning of my career with Mary Kay has been good and it provides me extra income and learning experience in management, leadership, customer relations, scheduling and accounting as well.  But I preferred to keep it as my part time job. Independent Beauty Consultant hasn't satisfied my social and healthcare benefits. I am looking for an account job because I have passion with accounting and calculation. I love working as a team, office setting, gain health benefits and networking with other office staff.

All work around self-reliance.
This means customer contact every day to maintain the existing customer base and generate new customers.
To inform about cosmetic products and the cosmetics industry.
To have an overview of the finances and to make the accounting.
I've learned a lot about cosmetic and woman are a great team together.
The company is great and helpful in any situation.
A lot of people take care of you.
My Workplace is at most at my customers home and it's always fun and great to meet so much interesting people.
The hardest thing in my job is the accounting part and the most enjoyable part is to meet people and learn about the different life's.

As an independent beauty consultant, I manage my own hours. It is flexible enough that allows me to work somewhere else during the day. I love being a consultant because I get to know the needs of my clients really well and build great relationship with them.

It is a great privilege to be working with my sister consultants in Mary Kay because they are the ones that support and help me where I wanted to go in my business. In return, I get to do the same for them.

Lastly, I manage my office. I organize customer files, customer and taxable receipts, inventory (FIFO). Through out my working hours, I multi-task between computer work and booking calls for new clients.

Mary Kay Cosmetics is a wonderful company to work with awesome Co-Workers. Brief meetings in the morning with management before you started your day. Operating a Pick to Light System for duration of the day and assembled / Prepared Starter Kits for Sales Reps. The enjoyable part of the work day was working along side my colleagues and aiming to please the company itself. Always looked forward to going in each day. Everyone always smiling and positive thoughts made for such a beautiful and fulfilling workday!

Networking is the key element to work with this product. 
"a small network" is not enough too: it doesn't matter how great you are on speech and on promoting/selling products. You need to have available people to buy from you. 
You need to be available to sell whenever they need, wherever they need. 
Competitive market: You main competitors are shoppers, sephorra, rexall and any other place nearby your customer that sells what they need more handy. 
You pay for everything, including the samples to distribuite to your customers. 
I am a huge fan of the brand. The products are amazing.
