Massage Envy

Work at a spa starts by setting up your own room, getting your sheets, your own lotion/oil, and towels. A therapist works for the company but is able to build their own clientele through the company. I have learned that is any job you have to deal with people from all different backgrounds, and you may not like all those people, but you just have to deal with them. I did not feel that the chain of command was very strong, and to be a cohesive unit the strength starts at the top. My co-workers were great, and they are all very hard workers as well. I really enjoyed the people that I worked with and we all got along great, but the hardest part of my job was communicating to sales associates, because there were too many distractions at the work place.

I began my journey with Massage Envy as a part-time sales associate. I enjoyed learning new skills, interacting with clients, and working with a strong team. I moved into a full-time position and assumed more responsibilities, which certainly helped me to grow as a team member. Eventually, I moved into a management position and was a part of a team led by incredibly supportive franchisees! I have had so many opportunities to continue to grow with this fantastic brand!

Great first option for employment when you graduate from massage school. Pay is low but work experience should be the goal here. Friendly staff and team members always willing to help. Didn't enjoy pushing clients to buy products. Not enough time to get the room ready in between clients when busy, always seemed rushed. Attending quarterly training can be a bummer.

I didn't work here for long.  Massage Envy is notorious for paying massage therapists too little for the work they do, but I was shocked when the checks they did pay out bounced.

it is not very busy spa for facial. salary just cover your bills and don't cover cost of living. they pay hourly but they don't have enough clint to full your hour.
