Nothing seems to please your superiors, no matter how well done it is there's always something that needs more. Bring blood and sweat to work... and even then that's not enough. 

Don't try to empress, try to get the work done as fast as possible and mind your time... meanwhile look for another job that pays more. this job reiquires too much of you with limited pay in return. For a retail job, it's. better if you get a job at Apple, their starting salary is 18 an hour. But it is difficult to land a job at Apple. 

Requesting time off is a nightmare and even when you're ontime for your shift you're still late. 3 lates = termination.

Everyone was respectful but it was long dreadful hours with minimum wage and insanely low commission. Everyone is always competing for sales and trying to steal customers. Hours get cut without any prior heads up. 

I applied wanting a full time position which they told me they didn’t have at the time. But then I realized that they hired new staff after me and gave them the full time hours. So I was pretty mad

Their uniforms were okay but the shoes they made us wear were extremely uncomfortable to stand in for super long hours. It’s the one place I’ve dreaded working for after a while because eventually it got toxic. Definitely not a fun welcoming environment

There have seasonal uniforms which you aren't allowed to take home except to wash/dry clean them. The cost comes out of your pocket. You need to be changed and on the floor when your shift starts otherwise management will write you up for being late, even if it's a minute or two. They also don't give breaks for 5 hour shifts which is against the law. Canadian labour laws state that employees are guaranteed a 30 minute break for a 5 hout shift (paid or unpaid). Massimo does not give you a break AT ALL. Management actually said "no breaks" when briefing you for a 5 hour shift. They are quite literally breaking the law with how they treat their employees. Be warned.

I am very into Fashion. This Company was my small step to my future profession that is related (hopefully) to Fashion Area (Business/Management). My work was not that easy because previously I had never done something similar before. I helped costumers with all their needs (even ordered some goods for them online), organized windows (as a visual merchandiser, a little bit) and store-shelfs. I enjoyed offering different items and helping combine all of them together. The best part was to hear kind wishes and see smiles on costumers faces.

•	Sales management on a store level.
•	Doing the merchandise orders for the stores according to the sales.
•	Staff management and scheduling.
•	Inventory control for the merchandise.
•	Training team and develop their customer service skills.
•	Working on maximizing sales by giving information to the brand manager of the market needs.
•	Price study of merchandise of competition for every season.
•	Presentation about the trends for each season and how it’s being accepted.

I loved my co workers however management was poor and made it an extremely stressful work environment. Managers watched us 24/7 around the clock which added to the pressure. Was not very uplifting or supportive environment, if you messed up you're getting scrutinized for it regardless if you had much training or not. 

Massimo Dutti is a great store to work at. It is very professional with a great team and pleasant clients. Massimo allows you to gain customer service and leadership experience through everyday work exposure. You must be able to work 20 hours minimum a week which is great for students in college/university. But it can also get tiring when you're on your feet working 9-hour shifts.

Pretty standard retail job with managers that expect you to always be available. Visual merchandising staff had an air of arrogance and acted like they were in charge of everybody. Felt unwelcoming and difficult to move up in company unless you sucked up to managers.

The job was very shallow, the salary wasn't nearly enough for the expectations. You get a bi-weekly evaluation, they rate you in different areas; such as how put together you are, how much initiative you take in the store, customer service skills, etc. I understand how criticism can be constructive but theirs was often mostly very shallow. Too much pressure and expectations for a minimum wage job.

Working at Massimo allows you to work in a fun and unrestricted environment with other colleagues and you can really get to meet people in high places, but the chances for growth within the company is really restricted and sometimes you might work extra hard to get a promotion, only for them to hire external people.
