Pay was decent, but was very hard to get details about the job. Was being contacted by multiple people in the company about the job, each giving me different wages etc. After being in contact for a week trying to get details about the job, I Literally showed up to site a day early after driving from one province to the next (13 hours and a 2 hour ferry) to find out what the dress code even was from the the clients workers leaving site.. about an hour after finally receiving my tool list. I was told to bring a tape and a level but had to go buy almost a thousand dollars of tools and a roller box before I started work the next day, needless to say I was very angry at this point. I didn’t have any contact with them for the next few months outside of being vandalized my first two days because I was unknowingly showing up to a job being payed more then people on site right after they had a wobble in the union. The company I was being contacted to and their workers liked my work and they kept me busy and two different jobs with no further hassle. Once I was finally let go and informed them that I was let go due to job completion, I couldn’t get a record of of employment and even had Service Canada get involved.. even they had a hard time, it almost turned to a court case with Service Canada saying they would hire a representative for me.

Biggest scab outfit I have ever worked for. Take my advice and don’t work for these people! Rip you off on hours, vacation pay (they only pay 4%, for construction work when the employment standard in Alberta is a minimum of 6%) Never pay you on time, paid bi weekly, no benefits, can’t get a pay stub let alone an ROE when u get laid off. When you address them about it they tell you if you don’t like it then quit! Filed a complaint with Alberta Labour Standards. Hope they go out of business because they’re ripping hundreds of people off, it’s not just me!

Micro Managed. Will not pay overtime unless it is “approved.” High employee turn over. Over the 2 months Ive seen 3 people leave the company. low pay for the amount of work. Verbal abuse, by management. Worst company I’ve ever worked for to by far. Disclaimer: this work culture is not for everyone. If it is, great for you and all the best!

Its always an open door policy and we get to bounce ideas off one another. We work as a team and function like a family. Different personalities collaborating to share and come up with new ideas. Recruiting isn't always easy and can get frustrating but having a team with the same goals and visions means we help each other through those more frustrating times. 

An amazing COE who strives for excellence and continuous improvements. I enjoy working here at Matrix, I feel valued and appreciated each day and a good sense of job security too.

The team is incredibly supportive, and the work environment is very positive and uplifting. The management cares  about the employees' well-being and development, and that keeps everyone pumped and motivated. Its never a dull moment working at Matrix.
