Great place to get experience in different areas. Opportunities to work on lots of interesting projects. Work is flexible (time/location). Team members are nice and down to earth. However, not somewhere you'd want to work long-term. Flexible hours means you often need to work off hours (evenings/weekends) to support other teams. The work environment is extremely stressful with lots of tight/last minute deadlines. The work culture is somewhat toxic. You will likely be overworked and unfairly compensated. Working there long term is likely to take a toll on most people's mental health.

It's a growing company specialized in environmental engineering industry with majority revenue from oil and gas corporate clients.
The company culture is in a transition from a family alike atmosphere to a cold result-driven office culture. The employee turn-over rate in administration sector is kind of high in past two years.
I grew up in the company from entry level to intermediate financial accountant in four years. The management is very professional and gave employees enough freedom to find best solutions.

Matrix was previously a fantastic place to work with a great company culture. Excellent and engaged staff, caring environment, and knowledge-driven work. But in the past several years, the company culture has declined tremendously and consequently many fantastic staff have left the company. High stress place to work. Unless you are fortunate to be surrounded by the right team members, you will be likely to be overworked, stressed out, poorly supported, and underappreciated.

Young organization with lots of talent and potential. Some changes in the culture workplace needs to be looked after as it is imperative to keep talent. Most Senior Leaders are great to work with. Very approachable and opened to listening to your ideas.

All the people I worked with and met over the years at Matrix were great.  Too bad the old industry bubble burst a few years ago and the Saskatoon office was not a good location to conduct and assist in 99 percent oil and gas projects.

While I had decent team members.  The overall company is very behind with technology and innovation comparing to its competitors and industry standard from the rest of the world.  Your mental health will be better if you have a mentor that will help you and guide you, otherwise, you will be lost just like the company culture has.

Very poor communication, and because of that was set up for failure. Without telling me I was hired to place the current manager without knowing. She found out and for that reason it was very difficult to get anything done. They are very set in their ways, and really do not want to make change for the better when it comes to safety.

Loved my time with Matrix, it was a hard decision to leave. Loved the people I worked with, great benefits to the employees, career advancement, normal internal grumblings, but overall I would go back. Work life balance was key, come and go as you please but when work needs to be completed it is expected that you pull your weight.

poor salary. cheap when it comes to expenditures (employee expenses, equipment upkeep)  but charges clients out the wazoo. LOTS of travel. Poor LOA/per Diem. Work life balance between March-November is non existent.

good people, knowledgeable and mostly approachable. good place to start, but not a place to stay.

A great company for the seniors to take advantage of new employees. Seniors are always taking time off and believe themselves to be the smartest people even with many new employees being more educated than senior employees.
