McCafe

This was the worst job I have ever and will probably ever have, and I thankfully escaped it with my integrity and personality still intact. The management were the worst; the way they spoke to people, the way they attacked the people on their team and the lack of choice in scheduling, it was very confining and controlling. The manager made multiple people cry including myself, and many times insulted people, verbally and emotionally assaulted people and was threatening in different ways. It was the most stress induced, hateful environment I have ever experienced, as well as the most unsanitary; no one practiced good food handling skills and the "cafe" or store itself was so small that it was compact and unsafe; causing many injuries without any injury reports being documented. There were so many violations in regards to human/workers rights, health and safety and food handling that I was so embarrassed, shocked and disgusted to continue working in a place that I could no longer support. Having been told by my manager to pick up danishes off the freezer floor after they dropped out of the box and put them back in the freezer, I was appalled. Head office was even worse as they never addressed a lot of the issues I tried to mention, as well as multiple staff not being paid different occasions multiple times, it was the most disturbing work experience I hope to never have again anywhere else. I was so disappointed that McDonald's could be this bad of a company to work for, and it took away from my skills, assets and personal/professional growth and after and before I left, there were many employees quitting due to all of the above mentioned. Fair warning, do NOT work for this organization; it's not worth the useless discount or the benefits.

The wors place I worked for. Menagment is very bad. You get insulted and put down every day. There is no appreciation for your work at all. Extremely stressful, being in very busy Union station. I can handle busy, but how office and boss treat people is discussing.
Plus there was a lot of broken rules with making food and drinks . Don't eat there , a lot of flys and croling creatures all over. Very disappointed.

Mccafe is a great place to work if this is your first job or just a part-time job for college and university students. They have a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff are always eager to lend a hand.

I loved working at McCafe, best people to work with, I cannot find this kind of staff around the world. Fast paced work environment, but everyone helps one another.

Optimal for students, flexible schedule because of high turnover. Friendly environment, they provided too little hours which is why I left. Otherwise, good if looking for experience.

Hundreds of orders everyday to serve at a reasonable amount of time. i learned how to manage my time properly and how to maintain and balance the operation of the store daily.

learned to be proactive and ontime, i am true friendly person who always shown loved to customer and worker, made me have chance to improve my customer skill.

You work hard and it is not recognized. The most enjoyable part of the job is the contact with customers.  I learned how to be fast taking orders. Poor management team.
