Carberry is a collective boomer fantasy where senior members are heavily overpaid and entitled. HR shuns any requests - the key (for them) is always to get you out of their faces asap. Expect consistent mistakes with your pay/ot/vacation/etc. McCain talks the talk about diversity and yet 95% of managers and supervisors are white Canadians. Advancement opportunities are there if you play their high school dynamics. Harassment happens on a daily basis under various grounds and everything is swept under the carpet. Retaliation is real and your job description will be bent and played around to make you a "team player". If you do get the job, be as slow as possible - finishing early is frowned upon. Don't be fooled - they are buying your TIME, not your work. Be prepared to accept a lot of biased decisions and contradictory actions as well.Be resilient and stay for as long as your mental health allows you - the pension is great.

If it wasn’t due to some health concerns, I would still be here. McCain’s is one of the best places to work. They treat all of their workers fairly, and kindly. You fit in within the first day. They have lots of job opportunities within the building, and lots of opportunities to check out & choose  what is best suited for your needs. They have amazing programs set in place for workers with mental health concerns & physical concerns. Extremely communicative, steady environment and you are given a decent two breaks to eat which, as someone with digestive problems, was enough time to eat, digest & relax and get back to work. There are so many amazing things I could say about McCain’s, including their top notch sanitation process and cleanliness, but I will let the rest figure it out. I highly recommend this corporation for anyone of any legal working age looking to get back on their feet or to maintain a stable, mature work environment. 

we started 4 crews 4 on 4 off.then because of the poor economy and the loss of contracts we went a week of days then a week of nights(12 hr shifts).for the location the company paid pretty well.the company treated us well and took care off us(benefits).they incourged us(job training) to advance in the company.I was also able to take various health and safty couses through the W.C.B. of P.E.I.sponsered by McCain.I also sat on the Health and Saftey commitee for the plant and was shift safty officer.they brought in other companies to train us for confine space century training and other courses.Was able to get my lift-truck ticket from them.As senior tech-operator.it was my responsibility to produce top quality product for customers and cut production cost by controling waste flows.I was also responsible for setting up equipment,trouble-shooting,and controling all of the processing operating systems(pumps,turbines,cutter and sorter systems).

If you work hard and show up everyday and try to make a career out of the place, this is NOT the place for you. 
Management plays favorites, and the only ones who will have advancement opportunities is friends and family of upper management. 
Years of service means nothing. I have seen people hired off the street with no education or skills get better jobs over people that works hard, dedicated, has more experience and has been their for several years.
They discriminate between salary and hourly employees. salary employees have better wages, more vacation time and unlike the hourly employees the salary employees actually get bonuses. 
The place needs a complete management and HR department overhaul.
The only benefits to working here are the health benefits and most of the people who work on the production floor are friendly and great to work with, also the hourly pay for the area is a little more then most places. 

Hot/cold, long, boring. The air quality is very poor on most days and management does nothing to fix the problem. The tasks are repetitive and there are often injuries from the repetition although Management and WCB will not admit the jobs are repetitive.  
Moral in the plant is very low. Management talks about making changes but nothing ever changes. 
Hiring for positions that are higher up or in the office are usually filled outside of the plant. Rarely are people promoted. 
Most of the people who work there are great. If they hire someone who is difficult to work with they usually keep them even though it often means good employees quit.

Honestly the most stressful things are when I let stress get the best of me 
Most of the time your work day is free of stress if your in Tune with your equipment and communicate well with your team

Well paced friendly and satisfying 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Shift change hand over meeting planning for your expected production run. Regular quality testing and line preventive maintenance checks commutation with all in your team 
Breaks and lunch coverage etc

They will work you as many hours as you want.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very popularity based in employee relationships.  If you are not a woman or do not bend over to serve management you will suffer abuse more freely.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
can be abusive depending on coworkers.  You could also end up preforming other employees tasks if they are the bosses pet.  They will keep incompetent people employed while pushing better workers to work for 3 people without recognition of their efforts.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
show up 30 minutes early for unpaid safety meeting before 12 hour shifts start.

I have never been put in a dangerous situation by any of my employees  or supervisors,i feel respected by fellow employees and management. I  drive around on a forklift with heavy loads and my job is a fast paced environment so paying attention is vital.I have learned to stay calm have patience and adapt to change instantaniously.If you are running shorthanded and machinery malfunctioning makes it hard and frustrating.The people that I am surrounded with makes me feel good and my supervisor appreciates my work.

First hour I made sure all lines had correct and enough packaging product for the shift. Then I would start to relieve the line operators for the first break. After that I would complete something's on a cleaning list, before I started to relieve for the lunch break. I also completed other tasks to what were assigned for that day by the supervisor. At end of shift I sanitized machines and prepped for next day/shift.

I enjoyed the job. It gave me the freedom of learning how to run all machines and learning how to sanitize them. I liked that I wasn't restricted to only one area of the plant so I made relationships with all coworkers.

It's terrible each shift has very different standards and expectations making shift changes difficult and stressful most of the management and all of the HR are useless I work there for 2 years and never had the ability to take vacation or take time off because of the software they for everything takeing time off and taking vacation looking at work stubs ect never worked are get in the way constantly if they where helpful or useful it would be okay but their not
