Management consultancy, so no such thing as a minor problem - all issues were "critical" and "No" is not in their vocabulary.  This created plenty of opportunities to be creative with problem solving.
Very little questioning on whether something could be done, or not - the expectation is that everyone knows what needs to be done and can do it.  Very little opportunity to take time out to learn, so all learning was either done outside of the office, or by working on the issues.
The office politics is ultimately what lets the Firm down badly.  Bullies in senior positions allow the creation of a very tense atmosphere and leads to a great deal of job insecurity across all areas of the support staff.  It also creates unnecessary cliques to form when everyone should be working towards the same goals.

•	Proactively manage consultant's calendar efficiently and taking initiative to get to know clients and team.
•	Manage study by flagging upcoming meetings for consultants and associates, participate in team discussions about timing and upcoming requirements and managing the administrative workflow.
•	Work closely with consultants, associates, and their teams to arrange client meetings whether in person or via video conferencing with multiple locations or time zones.
•	Arrange all travel including assistance with hotel reservations, air travel, directions, etc.
•	Work proactively with consultant’s wives and manage any requests they may have.
•	Prepare and track all billing and accounts receivable and to follow up as necessary.
•	Submit and track all expenses as well as medical/dental expenses and ensure reimbursement is received.

McKinsey and Company taught me to work independently and collaboratively.  How to best manage my time to work towards the goals of the team.
I learned how to be a team player and remain focus on a task.
The people at McKinsey are fantastic.  One of the many reasons why I enjoyed working there.
The hardest part of the job was navigating the priorities of the job.  There was a lot of work that could be done and it was difficult to determine if the project you were working on would be the biggest impact.
I enjoyed the role I had working in the knowledge management arena  and people were a great group to learn from.

Overall a phenomenal place to accelerate your learnings and career trajectory. The pace is VERY FAST and expectations are HIGH for you to perform at your best. This isn't a place where you are sitting around asking to be given something hard to do, it is expected that you are constantly thinking about the problem and pushing it vs. waiting to execute tasks. Expect to be pushed hard but to grow in ways you haven't seen before. 

Extremely posh and relaxing office. I loved the office more than the people. Toxic leadership and favoritism ruined the enigma of McKinsey. Work place culture is deficient and management is tone deaf.

There were so many meetings that it was hard to get the actual work done here. I didn't work here long I chose not to renew my contract there. From what I observed, it was very formal, analytical and structured, and they didn't particularly want to hear new ideas from an outsider. Coworkers who had been there longer seemed to really like it, but it wasn't a good fit for me.

Great environment to work in with wonderful and top line people. The organization used to be excellence focused, but has turned to a profit for the partners focus and has lost that something special about the place.

McKinsey is great at finding the smartest people across industries, bringing them together, and solving some of the most challenging issues businesses have. You build amazing hard and soft skills and work with some of the most accomplished business professionals.

You learn from best, good compensation but you constantly feel anxious. It is not because of work but it is by design choice. That being said, it is truly a global company and very flexible. you can find 1000 different experience from different people because as they say everyone makes their own McKinsey
