What is the best part of working at the company?
They provide trainings for first aid, de escalation, customer service and etc. For superintendents, they also include basic training for repairs.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company's priority is to always save money. Approvals for repairs and maintenance issues are delayed due to looong protocol for approval. Frontliners like admin and superintendents have to take the blow from angry tenants. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment lacks team spirit and company pride. Everybody knows everybody is underpaid. The company hires good employees but staff has to toughen up to face the challenges at work. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day requires coordination with team members so be sure to make good rapport with everyone. Each day is a chance to resolve tenant's maintenance requests and building issues so prepare to bring a lot of patience with you daily.  Multi tasking skills is required or you will not survive.  Good communication skills will be very handy in dealing with frustrated tenants.

The building I worked in may not be indicative of the company as a whole and I also worked there during the pandemic; with those caveats out of the way, here goes.
Upper management is deaf to both employees and tenants. They were unwilling to pay for necessary building maintenance such as cleaning out the stacks and fixing garbage bins. They often lacked necessary hardware to complete work orders. Hallways were usually half lit because they wouldn't order light bulbs, we had no hot water for three consecutive weeks etc. We went months without a Property Manager. The culture among coworkers was a mixture of bitter and defeatist. I would not recommend working for or renting from Medallion.

The day-to-day work itself was fine, but the overall experience was cut short due to management issues.

Management has a lot of ego and does not handle issues well. I was terminated without cause simply for asking to speak with HR

No work life balance due to short staff most times. Lead super wouldn’t work much due to “injuries” always pass down heavy work to younger staff and take credit when credit wasn’t earned. Lead admin/super always choosing violence when talking with tenants, even when tenants only wanted help/work requests, no patience with individuals who didn’t speak English - mocking comments made when tenants left room. Toxic environment. 
Pm always did their best considering everything that was happening during my time there. 

A typical day at work: Enter the office, check lead management for the days’ appointments . Answer inquiries about pricing and availability phone/email/ in-person interactions. Take prospects for a showing . If they are interested, send them an application through a verified email address. The people are nice to work with but compensation is extremely low. Many people are leaving the company in numbers because of this very issue.

Favoritism is a huge problem even if you are the most senior employee at any given location. My biggest problem with Medallion is the work and life balance, to be fair Medallion does offer a reasonable incentive package and 80% benefits. One of the largest problems was staffing levels, this is directly tied to the work and life balance. 16 hour days represent the majority of working days here.

Fellow super staff was great to work with, good teamwork. You would make more money working at McDonald’s full time. they take 380ish each pay for apartment plus other deductions so you take home 800-900 biweekly. You have to work stat holidays 8-4 no extra pay/extra day off. Buildings full of bugs. Contractor approval takes days for most urgent matters. Management is okay if you’re on their good side, will exclude you if you’re not. 

Training is almost non-existent.
Managers are useless and only look out for themselves.
Zero positive feedback.
LOW salaries and terrible benefits.

Job was easy although dealing with bad management was difficult.
The rents continually increase and it makes it difficult to rent units that have had nothing done to them just price increases.

Unable to keep promises  with what was said my wife and I were getting with the position took sick and lost job then was told we had to be out in 7 days . And was told that the property manager would assist with a transfer to different location  never happened. But my wife and I always done our job and we had to put up with being threatened by tenants and also to the bosses but nothing was done .

the days were long and busy from doing your morning walk through of buildings and property and the daily cleaning to dealing with garbage recycling  cleaning lobbies hallways stairwells cleaning laundry room  handing out Notices for late rents even N4--N5 Orders Collection of rent each much
