I worked at Menkes for a few years, and while I gained valuable experience, I ultimately found the work environment to be challenging. There was a lack of clear communication and direction from leadership, which led to confusion around expectations and project priorities. Additionally, the company struggled with a high turnover rate, making it difficult to build cohesive teams and foster long-term relationships. While the company has some strong individuals, there needs to be more investment in employee development, support, and overall culture to improve retention and morale. Despite these challenges, I appreciate the opportunities I had to grow professionally and wish the company the best in future endeavours.

A typical day for me would commence with reviewing my e-mails first, tenants requests, reviewing invoces, processing purchase orders and any other requests that may come from the General Manager or operations staff. I have learned a lot, not just the basics, from statements of accounts to building submissions. I work with very good managers who have guided me well. My co-workers are compitent individuals. The hardest part of my job has also been an opportunity for serious learning. I have trained and organized a company six building complex site property management office. I truly enjoy being giving opportunities for progress and personal learning. I welcome these challenges.

Was reached out to by this company for a position. It seemed like they needed to fill it out urgently which was already a red flag. After several phone promising phone calls and emails and basically guaranteeing the job, they decided to ghost me and not give me any updates. After asking for any updates they decided to move onto someone else without mentioning it, only to try and offer me the job at a later date after I assume the other applicant decided to withdraw. HR and their hiring team appears to be extremely unprofessional.

Accounting Management is atrocious. 
Double standards everywhere.  If your manager likes you, then you can dial it in, don't have to be good at your job or even know how to do it - you'll receive above average salary increases and generous bonuses.  If you're competent but your boss doesn't like you...your performance will never be good enough.   And have I mentioned colorism?...yeah that's another thing you have to watch out for. 


Insufficient resources given to do your job. Mgmt talk about work life balance but volume of work is impossible to complete in a  7.5 hour day.  Pressure constant to meet deadlines pushing you to work OT which is not paid. Also don’t give it to you as lieu time. If you comment about OT worked the response is we don’t “ask or expect” this from you. There’s nothing enjoyable about work here

You’ll work there and they’ll tell you that you are doing a great job. You’ll straighten things out, get the processes in place and get things running smoothly and efficiently. Then they’ll replace you with a family member that recently graduated university and needs a job. Do not trust their HR person. They’re only concerned about themselves.  Good luck.

There is truly no work life balance. I encourage anyone who is thinking of excepting an opportunity with them to think long and hard about what you value. The pay is not equal to most expectations, nor is there adequate support or sharing of knowledge. 

Good place holder, not a company to build a career. 

The company is continuously contributing to the economy of Ontario by developing and building new properties that will offer an additional job opportunity to the people of Toronto.

company is not recommended they make promises and when you get to the assigned location it wont be what you thought it would be they will make you wait for tools to do the job worst place ever, and co workers talk behind your back and are 2 faced and they will verbally abuse you and upset you on a daily basis.

No place is perfect and like all places MHI has it's issues, still, overal, it's a good place to work. It has some great people there who are always helpful and focused on team work. The company has maintained a hybrid work environment post-covid.
