First job hired right out of school. Supervisors and managers are equitable and fair. Supervisors started off exactly where you were once, so they know the ins and outs of the position s. It's a unionized facility, but back in the day it wasn't. You'll work with a huge cross section of individuals with minor to extreme physical and mental disabilities. Sometimes, your co workers will  will tow the line, other times workers on your shifts will be slackers and do the bare minimum, expecting you to pick up the slack. Pay starting rate was equal to market rates 18-20/per hour. Benefits only for full time employees nothing for part time or casual. Advancement takes time and persistence, sometimes you never get a chance to move between residences or head office,  and you will get pigeon holed into your location. Answers to your questions are few and far between and at best vague. Good thing all of your credentials First Aid, CPI, Lifts, etc are taught in house and accredited for which you get paid. It's a really thankless job, don't be looking for a slap on the back or a job well done compliment it's never going to happen. You have to have a passion for this type of work. Client notes must be updated daily per your shift, accident reports and log notes completed during your shifts, or you will be written up and suspended by management or by your supervisor. Patient to support worker ratio is usually 3 to 1. Don't forget to take your breaks during your shift, your entitled.

Exiting place of work , very friendly staff and clients. Was an amazing opportunity working there.I have a  very fun memory difficult to forget about this place.We did not need to go to work in the morning with breakfast. Just go to the kitchen and have yourself a hot cup of coffee or tea with toasted bread which was provided by our group members on rotational basis. My co-workers were people from different parts of the glob. It did not matter whether you come from Africa, Europe or Asia, what was important was your ability to deliver on the job assigned to you. The management was made up of a team of professionals .There were mostly English. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is the fat salaries we received at any pay period compared with the little effort we put in on the job (which I considered a fun exercise) and the thirteenth month pay we received every December from Management.
The hardest pare of the job is the frustration you go through when you are assigned with a deaf and dumb mental health client. You want to support this client, but you don't know where to start.

Great organization. With great support from supervisors as well as co staff. The clients are great too! The supervisors and Human Resources are always willing to give an ear to their staff and support them in every way possible. I would recommend to anyone to work there.

Don’t remember being stressed whilst working there. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was very friendly and welcoming. People always work together as a team. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Scheduled activities, appointments as well as activities for daily living. Clients have different activities scheduled according to their individual needs and also religious and cultural needs are also incorporated as needed.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Communication  with management is great, both emails and memo, a great organization to work for, Meta supports people with special needs,  after a day working if you are a Compassionate person you will feel rewarded.

Staff not following Covid-19 procedures

Great work environment,  it also depends if you are a team player

Provide TLC to people with special needs and assist with daily living.

Good staff teamwork and good communication with management

Nothing really is stressful. It's a laid back atmosphere 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I enjoy the staff and residents. We make a good team.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work only weekends 3-11pm so it's not an intense shift. Pretty routine.

I have met parents who have pulled their children out of Meta due to the fact that staff are not properly trained to handle the influx of behavioural clients Meta is taking in.  

Staff concerns are ignored by management.  Management only really cares about looking good to the community.  I was injured by clients on the job on more than one occasion and was often told it was "part of the job".  Zero concern for my well being as a staff member.

The clients are the only ones that's kept me at this company for so long. There is absolutely NO appreciation to the staff just a bunch of nonsense rules that are put on us, the most appreciation we get is pizza nova every month.  aAso have not received any type of raise even after inflation, they need to treat the Frontline staff a lot better considering the work they do.

I was harassed and bullied by the supervisor I worked with and head office did next to nothing about it. They put me in a residential home by myself for long periods of time with 4 males, I got beaten up on a regular basis and my employers did nothing about it. I had panic attacks every day I went to work. Glad I’m out of that job!

Nice to work here, Very social management and staff, Nice Individuals, Annual Party’s, Well respect to staff members, very caring management.Give lot of trainings to staff members so that they can work professionally, Love to work here
