Work in the fast paced Warehouse was hard, however time goes by quick.
I learned so many things about metals , production, fabrication and Sales.
The culture was very supportive, culturally diverse, new people were treated with respect and were allowed to make mistakes and grow from them.
The hardest part of the job was learning the computer system when I moved into sales, the  ERP was in need of vast improvement or total replacement.
Managers were hands on and cared about their co-workers
The people I worked with and the friendly customer base were terrific.
I was sad to move on however, with Metal Supermarkets sales training I was able to use my experience, and land a management job in another industry.

Metal Supermarkets great place to work. If your a Junior sales or looking for more sales experience this is the place.

 You get to use cool saws for cutting, and learn every type of metal where other metal company's only focus on one line Metal Supermarkets carries them all. Great incentive bonus programs. Profit Sharing. Good store Managers. Good communication from warehouse to sales staff. Family environment. Indoors.

Very enjoyable place to work if you're a self starter and enjoy being physical. Very emotionally rewarding work, helping customers and working with the Metals.

Decent amount of turnover due to the pace, and labour which can be stressful. 

Management is great. Open door policy and they are usually the first ones on the floor helping when you need it. You wouldn't usually see a Manager slinging product like these guys do. Also nice to see Managers who are actually competent and can help out.

Would recommend for younger guys trying to get a foot into the workforce.

Can be challenging on fast paced days dealing with waves of customers on a regular basis but if you have a calm and diligent attitude and enjoy lifting on a regular basis, you will thrive in a great team environment with exceptional pay and monthly bonus potential. Easily one of the best employers I've ever had. It's one of those jobs where you either HAVE IT or you DON'T. I've worked here long enough to know that lazy slackers DON'T.

Fast paced work , sometimes hard to keep up

Excellent people. Team culture, lots of help. Very little drama. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced. Mentally rewarding.

A very good shop to work in with many locations worldwide so transfers are available. Worked with many great people who taught me many things about metal in the time I was there. Will definitely stay a customer for my projects.

Always on the go the people on sales don't help around on the warehouse .Manager don't know  much about metal industry and yet Trying to boss you around. It's like  you do the job he gets the credit.No advancement.To many promises that went for nothing.They will ruin you here mentally and physically.

You will be carrying very heavy metal by hand. Everyone has back and joint pain. The Carbon monoxide detector goes off very often and management plugs it out.

Stressful no team work lack of communication ,  I believe there were not any process of procedure to follow. I don't want to elaborate about this employer there is a clause in the EPM where you can be terminated upon your disability.

I'll leave the personal details out, but this place was a horrendous place to work.
The work is hard, sometimes unsafe. The pay is low. Little opportunity for advancement. Bad management (ownership).
The customers are amazing though. They almost make the whole thing worth it.
