Metro Plus

Management organization was poor. Thankfully the schedules are relatively flexible, but you are overworked and taken advantage of. You receive very little breaks. The beer bottles in the back were always disorganized and I had to reorganize them every day. The mops and buckets were always dirty, the water was always black since I was the only person replacing it whenever I need to mop a mess or clean the flour. The employer's break room was always a disgusting mess including the fridge and microwaves that are cleaned about once every 6 to 8 months if you're lucky. 

The only positive is the friendships you create. I love and miss my old coworkers. 
I guess you can also add that shifts from 5pm - 10pm are really chill and you can chat with your supervisor.
We had 3 different managers and 2 different store managers in one year, cause they all had a burn out. There was a 3 months period where we had no manager and had to fend for ourselves. 
At my store multiple people were siblings or dating, so there was a lot of favouritism. 
The manager and supervisors are not professional, they aren’t shy to curse and yell at you. 
Also 2 15 minutes break when you work 5-8:45 hours????? I would starve and become dehydrated during my shifts. 


Despite the older manager of the service department, and her bad attitude and lackluster attitude towards employees. The staff is very friendly and give customers the deserved attention and sometimes more. Slight disorganization with the bottle returns. Other departments and managers are extremely friendly and helpful. No problems fitting in as everyone is very inclusive. No problems getting used to the job and surroundings.

Typical day at work would be making sure all cashes balanced, doing deposits, preparing breaks for all the employees, closing store, organizing, helping customers and making sure everything runs smoothly thoughout the day/night. I have learned how to be a better leader. The hardest part of the job would have to be making sure all of our customers have a pleasent experince shopping at Metro. The most enjoyable was that there was always something to do and keep me busy.

Did almost everything, was stock boy, bag man. Unloaded & loaded trucks. Took care of most food products including bread & dairy products. Involved with a lot of clients & helped them to satisfy their needs in helping them with what their looking for or older folks with their bags. 

6 o clock,working fast learned todo china food italy food,i work only 2 hours with the chef and after finish alonei have to clean all alone poats and accsesories...and all kitchen,but..i learn a new recipes

great place to get your foot in the door for a first job. Nice coworkers and hours are flexible was able to accommodate my schedule for 5 years which included night school for awhile and day school .

Working for metro for years and Learn the way they display their counter is like eating butter and bread every day! That’s were my customer service started. Metro always a good place to be, and I’m open for new challenges in my life!

Owner doesnt treat the employees that well. We do not even have any advantages. She doesnt give bonuses if you do a good job. 

There's always not enough employees working for the amount of client we get.

great work enviroment, fast pace , friendly, fexible hours, social, everyday was different, unionized would have loved to stay but had to move and become full time mom
