This company used to be a great place to work with and work for.. Although over the last few years the company has been progressively getting worse. 

They have promoted a new manager who is single handedly ruining this company's reputation and work environment.  

This company is no longer who they used to be as the new operations manager has removed every former employee that had been with the company for 20+ years. 

There is no appreciation for the work that you do - their motto is "give and take" but all they know is take take take.... 

Their currently employees are only working for them due to the current job market caused by COVID. Not one person is happy to be working there and would leave in a heartbeat if they could. More than half of the office staff has already left and the rest are waiting/wishing for an opportunity.

For anyone that is in such a bad position that must accept their job offer - I truly wish you the best of luck.    

The office staff and management are friendly and approachable. They have monthly safety meetings, often with treats (coffee and doughnuts) and paid lunches to celebrate employee anniversaries. The Christmas party was fun and engaging and everyone got a gift and had a great time. The production (shop employees) are friendly and hardworking producing some amazing millwork! Office  positions requires great organizational skills, attention to detail and an honest days work. I am happy to have gotten the opportunity to work at Midwest Millwork where I can grow and learn new skills and work in a comfortable atmosphere every day!

If you had zero previous experience in cabinetmaking, I would encourage you to work in a shop set up like this. You are going to learn all the fundamentals of cabinetmaking.

With that being said, if you did however have any previous experience and are the looking to improve your skills to be the best that's ever done it, I would avoid a shop such as this. You will feel held back and your skills will not be tested.

As far as atmosphere and the staff goes, the people on the floor and some of the folk in the office are great! Straightforward people wanting to see each other do and be better at work and in life; genuinely  nice people.

There isn't much about this company I didn't enjoy. Work hours are from 7-3:30, which gave me a lot of time to do other things, like spending time with friends and family. The work is extremely tedious but I didn't mind as it was work that I personally enjoyed. Staff was welcoming and fun to be around.

The management was chaotic, the project planning poor, and the problems dumped on the workers. They did cover costs associated with apprenticeship but offered no practical shop work for apprentices to learn on.

Great place for apprentices to learn new skills and strengthen previous skills they had. It's a fast paced environment but you're still given time to work with lead hands to learn. Understanding staff and management. 

The office top head is great but the shop....
Just like a communism. The manager guy who is also there more than 30 years ago, he is make himself like he is a king at there. He talks with people with no respect or like they are just kids in the school. People working there full of stress. Good luck if you work there!

Consistent workload with overtime opportunities, great to get experience in the trade, lots of excellent senior cabinetmakers to learn from, work hard and get treated for it.

This is a good place to work at.  Like most companies evolving these days and navigating through all the constant changes Midwest Millwork gets better and better.  Good culture and work environment.

Old, backward thinking organization. They lack vision, new companies will sweep them away it's not if it's a matter of when. They can't compete with the new millwork companies.
