Firstly, the company is steered by old school, boomer management, who, in times of confusion, defeat, struggle, has but one answer: "Just work harder". 

The executive here is all folks who are long out of the consulting grind, be it project management, fieldwork, technical work. They are focused on "the business". The business seems to be trying to grow too inorganically, and in too many directions. Are we now a software company, or a consultancy? There was increasingly high turnover in my years there.

Typical mid-sized company structure where 5+ year employees are shareholders, but also personnel's direct supervisors. When the time comes for any decisions to be made, these decision makers are all shareholders first, and boss second. In a decision between personnel (cost) and the business, you can guess which way the decision makers will go every, single,  time. Emphasis on the business making as much as possible, and paying the pawns as little as possible, with no proffesional development encourangement, raises, etc.

Management, directors, safety, HR, team leads: Everyone from top to bottom does not want to listen to any ideas or suggestions, especially from people "below" them. If you don't like it there's the door. They use every opportunity and excuse to hinder your income. Overtime is not paid out at a premium, it is banked and you have to jump through many hoops to get it paid out, and only as long as payroll doesn't forget. The company wants you to carry a large balance of banked time, so they don't need to pay you, per contractual requirements, when things are slow (And believe me, in the last two years, it's been slow a lot.)

The disrespect toward employees is unacceptable. It is no surprise there is very few intermediate and senior projects staff. Lots of fresh grads who don't know any better, and will be the "yes man" management wants them to be. Hourly wages are not awful, but they score low on the competitive scale. If you work in the field, do not use your own vehicle. Mileage rates will cost you money, you will end up with a clapped out truck and no money in your bank account. Oh, and they will randomly decide to determine some of your mileage taxable. 

You have to advocate for yourself to get any work. Everyone just keeps to themselves in the offices, no socializing or networking internally. A lot of senior project managers micromanage everything, even when people executing their work have more experience than they do! 

No training. Onboarding process is archaic and disorganized. Directors will tell you to just read SOPs on how to do the job, no actual training. Most SOPs are written by people who have not completed the work in a long time, if ever. 

Benefits suck. Vacation and everything else is in line with the rest of industry. Turning into a large remediation company, trying to create a software company, trying to break into the natural sciences and regulatory services. Neglecting reclamation. Losing workload from the clients I worked for.  

The industry is busy, everyone is hiring. Go somewhere else. 

The micromanagement it beyond reasonable and management is petty and childish.  Not a team environment.  Any experienced intermediate or senior person coming into this company will experience  belittlement and humiliation and begin to question your own abilities.  Anybody with any experience leaves within a few months.  The procedures and policies are over complicated as management is out of touch with the simplicity of field work and projects take much longer and cost much more than necessary.  Field staff  is nearly 100% junior and are quickly trained into project managers.  Juniors are training juniors as they lack experienced staff.  Not a a good place to get experience as the knowledge is very limited here.  

Employees and most PMs in the company are awesome but upper management is horrible. Some treat employees like they are a dime a dozen from seniors all the way down. No leadership skills and absolutely zero charisma. 

They obviously don’t care to help their employees to be the best they can be. Revolving door shop with so many intermediate and senior turnover.  Too many juniors leading work without proper training and not enough intermediate personnel. Systems are not great and not willing spend to make it better but yet want massive growth. Good luck!

Juniors get some diverse experience, but have to advocate for their own work to fill their billable hours, or they just don't get paid. Top-down structure is absolutely dysfunctional, upper management completely out of touch with field staff. Do not involve certain staff in logistics or planning projects which allows no career development. Staff are cliquey and favourites get preferred work from managers. Prefer to hire from outside than promote from within.

Very few people are authentic with middle management passing down the frustrations from the top. There is little to no training. If you are skilled across the board they will move you everywhere yet keep you uninvolved with project details - incredibly frustrating and jeopardizes performance ability. There was a huge turnover. No one I knew still works there. Contacts I know now do not speak well of the company. 

Executive leadership are a detriment to the company. It is a revolving door of employees, executives cannot see that they are the problem.  Employee retention is terrible, individuals within the company try to make improvements but their hands are tied in red tape by executive leadership. They lack true management skills and are micromanaging. Pay raises are little to none if you even get a pay raise.  Project manager processes and procedures are confusing, over complicated and constantly changing. 

It's a toxic place where honesty and transparency are punished. Several times, when I spoke up, I became the problem. The company has serious management issues caused by an old-school style and dysfunctional leaders.
It has a high turnover, with people leaving in up to two years.
They are trying to become a software development company, but their efforts are not going well. Their software is poorly developed and slow.

All staff just look at their monitors and they never want to build a strong relationship and trust. 

During interviews boast about training but offer none. When training is offered, it is a lunch and learn and you do not get paid to attend.

It has lots of technical staff but lack of communications cause problems. 

Easily ignored if you are not the favorite one!

I enjoy working at Millennium and being a part of the team. The company offers a flexible work environment and provides consistent communication through MS Teams and our monthly town halls. We have a family-orientated culture with long-standing loyal employees. There are a lot of like-minded knowledgeable employees who strive to provide excellent customer service to our clients.

Good Company.  Compensation and benefits are in line with industry average. Improvement required in Management capacity, creativity and team building.
