The job is fairly straightforward and repetitive… If you have no mechanical skills this is a good place to get some. If you’re a welder it will improve your skills with aluminum. If you’re an assembler it will teach you how to do things fast and accurate. The shop is too small. The foreman are pretty good, The managers are entitled and extremely insecure. This company will do well until the economy comes back in Alberta and then they will probably fail because they have invested so much money in equipment and very little in employee morale. Also if you’re going to work here don’t ever think about being late for work, it’s not an option. If heat and smells bother you this is not the job for you. In the welding shop the conditions are to be expected, it’s a welding shop, and it’s fairly well ventilated as welding shops go. In the assembly shop it’s disgusting. They managed to jam in a powder coat line including two very large ovens into the same small space where the assemblers work. It’s almost always too hot and the smell starts to get to you after a while. There is literally no facilities for eating your lunch in the assembly shop, as they feel assemblers have no value and are easily replaceable. To be clear, this is always going to be a sweatshop. They are building the same products on mass. This will never be a long-term career. Go in, Learn what you can, Make some money, And move on. 

Toxic place to work. They can't figure why morale is so low, even after inquiring, nothing changes. 
If you are family or friend you will go far here. If you have addictions or a criminal record you will be coddled. They talk about being a team yet there's no teamwork/ team building.
Lack of communication. 
You cannot have an opinion, it's strictly a yes man place, don't voice anything if you want to stay on the good side of management.
The more you do the more they expect, while others just idle along.
The buildings are small for the equipment that has been brought in, there's no space, everything is jammed in.
Get the experience and move on. If it's not on paper, it's not happening, don't waste your time. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Bad upper management. They over promise and over work employees. With low wages and bad benefits. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Short dead lines and no real quality control 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Workers are good it's all the management. Worst I have ever worked for 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start your daily work and then get interrupted several times to change tasks and side jobs for owners. Then complain that u didnt get ur job done

I worked there for 2 years... never given the opportunity to advance. Never given the chance to go to school for my apprenticeship,  never would sign my bluebook, always an excuse (to busy etc.). Floor supervisors were ok, upper Managment (literally 1 guy in charge) was abusive. Most of the shop was employed by drug addicts, or alcoholic (including supervisor). But they all showed up on Saturday to drink and work for OT... if you didn't do that? You were passed up for any opportunities.

Simply put, Milron is not a place for career or advancement unless you want to be pet for management! If you want to managements pet throwing your coworkers under the bus this is the place for you! If you want to bust your butt while management’s pets sit and watch you work this is the place for you! If you’re a respectable employee or tradesperson steer clear of this place!

Complete lack of training or advancement. Constantly thrown to the wolves or under the bus by co workers or management. Upper management has no clue what is going on and expects you to be there later than scheduled and even on days off. Extremely hard to get a raise unless you know someone higher up or are a family friend.

A stressful work environment. Upper management continues to try to micro manage every detail of all areas in all departments. 
Great place to learn new skills, but not compensated well.
The workplace culture is lacking severely, with a poor ideal on health and safety.

Build you up in the interview
Will fire you at any point, no one knows what's going on.
Expect you to drop your life and be there all the time, no training, throw you to the wolves, nothing is consistent.
Wage is incredibly low, benefits is worst I've ever seen. 
Wouldn't recommend working for this place

Avoid. There are far better places to work. Talent does not stick around.
It's unfortunate because this company has huge potential to be a great company, but upper management is unknowingly preventing that from happening.


They don’t have RRSP. They also don’t do evaluations so you’ll have to beg them if you want a salary increase. Bonuses are available but are never consistent and solely relies on the front office’s decision. Workload is okay.
