What is the best part of working at the company?
It was such an amazing place to experience. Exposure to various legal provisions and its applications to different situation is a vital eye opener to anyone.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not having enough weekly work hours resulting in limited pay

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Perfect. It represents a thorough educative and refreshing diversity that helps in promoting greater knowledge and understanding towards collaboration for effective service delivery.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Full of events with new lessons to learn each day. It's also usually busy with need for overtime ( when you are officially on duty).

My day starts the earlier the better, until the mad rush gets in! 
Much work can be done in quite hours of the day!
No need to look over anyone shoulders, we all have a work load to get done and the challenge makes it worth while...
Humour kicks in after 10am when everyone had their coffee!
I love a pile of files waiting for me to write orders on, or summons etc... busy busy busy makes the day go by faster.
Work/humours co-workers and coffee thats all I need to challenge my day!

A typical day at work was typing bail and probation papers, running in and out of court to make sure that all dockets were received, communicating with lawyers and offenders. I learned a better understanding of the judicial system and the process each offender goes through in the courts. The management and the co-workers were a delight as they were always willing to teach me new things. The hardest part of the job was knowing someone's offence and keeping a fair mind. I enjoyed this job a lot because it gave me the opportunity to learn and not stay stagnant.

Answer demanding phones. Making appointments. Filing. Every day had a deadline. Receiving and creating files from the RCMP detachment on a daily basis. One had to be very organized, detail oriented and highly motivated in order to work in this environment. The hardest part was reading the victims files and trying not to get involved in their situation. The most enjoyable part was feeling great satisfaction when the justice system helped both the victims and the criminals.

This government body is one of the worst employers you can work for. If you want to work in a backwards environment, where hard work means nothing and you can watch family members of supervisors slide past everyone to manager positions then this is the place for you! 
You are not paid properly to work in a toxic work environment! 
Run! As far as you can! 

You were paid based on how long court ran, so you could go into work for 2 hours and be done for the day, and if court was on recess , you didnt get paid, so you coukd be there for 10 hours and get paid for 6. so your paycheques varied. Staff group was a bunch of nasties who talked about whoever was not in the room.

Working for the Attorney General has assisted me in gaining marketable skills in the area of criminal, family and civil law proceedings.  I have enjoyed hearing a wide array of cases and interacting with the public, members of the judiciary and other internal and external stakeholders.

Typical day at work included daily project meetings and completing project deadlines and milestones. I learned to work collaboratively with co-workers and was able to build my own portfolio of skills. Workplace culture is very inviting and people are always open to new ideas.

I love my job as a court reporter.  It has been a very rewarding and interesting position.   Every day is different and every day is a another learning experience.
