While the company provides top-tier service and takes pride in delivering excellent results to clients, the internal work culture is beyond unacceptable. The managers are uncoordinated, with poor communication and inconsistent direction, creating confusion and stress for employees. Gossip among leadership fuels a toxic environment, setting a negative tone that affects everyone.

Mistakes are not forgiven but instead met with belittling and harsh criticism, making employees feel infantilized rather than supported. Being sick or needing time off was treated as a personal offense; managers would often hold grudges and make their frustration clear, leaving employees feeling guilty for circumstances beyond their control.

Additionally, the owner and manager present themselves as friendly and supportive but come across as disingenuous. Their behavior often feels like a façade, and their negativity toward "big jobs" or rush orders undermines the enthusiasm and passion required to grow the business. Their lack of emotional control and constant complaining about work responsibilities make the environment unnecessarily stressful and anxiety-inducing.

For anyone considering joining this company, while their service is exceptional, the workplace culture and leadership approach leave much to be desired. The contrast between the quality of their product and their treatment of employees is disappointing and reflects poorly on the organization.

This place is a joke and it’s management/ownership is an even bigger laughing matter. They tell you you’re delegated to a few tasks, only to add 10x more onto your plate within weeks. No positive reinforcement- majority of employees talk about how awful their workplace culture is and how they want to quit. The turnover rate is alarming, hard to tell till you’re there for a couple weeks. They lie about the benefits, you won’t be given any sick time or a package until 6 months of working there. Let alone, the owner will come in as sick as a dog without a mask on and get the whole team sick. You will only be talked down to for things you do wrong. You can achieve as much as they ask if you and you will never see a benefit out of it. I didn’t get to take majority of my lunches and no 15 min breaks either. I come from management and also design, the way this place is run is horrendous. They will lie to the clients constantly telling them they can get things done in an unrealistic turnaround time. You will be dealing with a lot of upset and confused customers, from 3 different businesses. You’re expected to take all the belittling and be ok with it. They’re fine with putting out jobs for clients that look like garbage or aren’t correct. In the end it will all be blamed on you. Overall, an awful experience and I hope they never treat anyone how they did to me and the several people they drove out of there. 

Typically, we have our morning meeting at 8:30AM sharp. This goes on for about 15 minutes. After, I take care of everything that needs to be shipped and go over all completed jobs with management. Once that's taken care of, it's up in the air. What I do is really based on what's going on and who's working. Usually I'll help out with production or organize various things in the shop. Management is... Tolerable. There's a bit of power tripping and poor communication in management, but you just learn to stay out of their way when they're frustrated. My co-workers are possibly the best people to work with ever. Everybody gets along so well, it's like one big family. I'd have to say the hardest part of my job would be dealing with management. They have a way of making things much more difficult than they should be, but I suppose you'll find that just about anywhere! My favourite part about my job is the variation. I can never really tell in the morning what I will spend my day doing, it's a nice break from routine. What I've learned most is how to take on responsibility in a role where I'm trusted. It was a scary feeling at first, but now I can't imagine working any other way.

To be honest I was really disappointed how my overall experience went while working for Minuteman Press. To be honest this was one of the worst places that I have ever worked. If I could not give a star I would.

During my small period of time working for this company I noticed that the management is beyond awful. Management yells, verbally abuses, harasses, bullies and threatens to fire staff. Because of the attitude of the management at this location the staff here are few, and getting smaller. In fact, a staff member (binder and cutter) quit within my first week due to the management at this location.

I do not recommend this job to anyone. No one deserves to be treated so badly for minimum wage.

The management at Jasper Ave. was HORRIBLE. The man is a complete jerk. He was giving poor training. He said that he would take the time to teach me in the email because I had a good attitude yet he talked to me like I was an idiot and an incompetent person. He insulted my graphic design major. I mean he was complaining that he hasn't been able to hire people within 8 months and there's a reason for that. The way he treats people is horrible. He was so weird he told me to take notes of what he said and then when i wanted to take notes for my memory, he basically yelled at me to not remember. 

Everyone remembers and learns things differently and he was insulting the way that helps me remember. I was really disappointed with the management.  

Honestly the owner of minute man press who is this person's supervisor should analyze why he's not able to hire people because he has a poor manner and he doesn't treat his employees well.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place.

The people there were nice but the work environment wasn’t always the greatest. Everyone was always stressed out which puts stress on you. It was my first job out of university and they knew that hiring me, yet they let me go after only a couple months without even talking to me first about opportunity to grow and improve. I felt it wasn’t fair for usually companies will work with you to help you improve. I feel I didn’t require enough training either. There was also a pressure for me to know everything and know how to set up files a certain way when some things I’ve never handled before. As a graphic designer I also love to be creative and get to know the projects I’m working on. I didn’t get to excursive that at this job, it’s a lot of the same boring stuff. It was a good for a first job, I wish it lasted longer, but in the end I’m happy to be out of there. TOO MUCH PRESSURE!

Management was aware I had very little experience in the printing aspect of the job and that my learning was going to take some time, however I felt incredibly unsupported. The franchise I was employed at only had the owner (who had a vision impairment), myself, and three on-call staff. Physically, I was the only able-bodied employee to do most tasks (the ONLY full-time employee most of the time, I was alone and had to figure everything out on my own with only ONE week of training). 
I was under so much stress and overwhelmed and my mental health took a strong nosedive downward, and this strongly affected my performance and work ethic, when I'm usually one to do my work very well and show up every time. Needless to say, I did not last long with the company and was dismissed just before my probationary period.

The owners give a false sense of security, making you think you are doing well but in actuality, they are critiquing your every move. If they are having a bad day then EVERYONE must also have a bad day. They could be unprofessional and often I would have to learn from my co-workers if I was "in trouble", instead of the owners confronting me themselves. 
I was given minimal training, then was blamed for not knowing enough. We were never given a chance to improve or grow and we were blamed for things that were out of our control. They can also be super sketchy and didn't tell us about cameras they had installed until months later.  They would secretly adjust our hours to avoid giving us overtime.
If it weren't for my coworkers I would have hated my job. The turnover rate for this location is ridiculous (a couple of months at most) DO NOT WORK HERE

Typical fast-paced environment, there are deadlines to be met and not all customers give a lot of time but we can usually pull it off in the end. At times that can be a tad stressful but it makes the day go by fast and it's satisfying to get something done we maybe thought wasn't possible and the customers appreciate it. Some even bring us Honey Donuts but not often enough imo.

It's been interesting to learn everything about print more than just crops and bleed and you see a lot of interesting customer print jobs.

Management like anywhere is not perfect but so far I haven't had any issues. Seem to pretty fair and reasonable. I've worked for an a**hole of a manager before so i appreciate they're at least not like that. The other employees seem to be good people, one brings their dog to work. 

In at 8 AM to staff meeting, the printing schedule, jobs on the press. Review copy centre for new and exsisting jobs and bring run to completeion. Answer phone, and create work orders. Liase with clients on specs at front desk, liason with Graphics Dept., Pressman and Bindery personal with client specs. We all worked in unison together at all times as a team, a family for the betterment of our clients and because we all deeply respected the Owners/ Operators.

The hardest part of the job was sometimes the lifting.

The most enjoyable part of the job was everything.
