Most days Material Handling at MPK are extremely fast paced. Some days it’s to the point where you cannot have any breaks or a lunch. Especially if the Material Handler on the shift before you did not grind his scrap, you’ll then have to deal with his scrap at the beginning of the shift which will slow you down significantly. The people are quite friendly, but some Production Operators can make your day a lot harder than it needs to be. Overall, Mitchell Plastics needs to treat their Material Handlers with more respect. They push down WAY too many trivial and time consuming tasks onto the Material Handlers. The organization is subpar as well, if you’re a new employee trying to locate a part number that’s unfamiliar to you, goodluck. You’ll spend precious minutes looking for that part number meanwhile you’re falling behind refilling empty dunnage or taking away empty dunnage at your Cell. The communication is terrible at Mitchell Plastics, many things you hear will be conjecture and contradictory. For example, my first day of on the job training, my trainer didn’t know a trainee was going to be accompanying him until the supervisor introduced us last minute. Material Handling at Mitchell Plastics is not a job you want to have for the rest of your life. They way you’ll work your body is terrible. Only a handful of employees have been Material Handling there for more than 3 years. If you don’t get a promotion in 3-5 years as a Material Handler here, you have to find another job because you won’t make it to retirement with a semi-functional body. In conclusion, Material Handling at Mitchell Plastics is a temporary stepping stone to your success in life, do not make it permanent.

It's not a terrible place to work. The people (for the most part) are great, the plant is clean, and depending on what position you get hired for they pay pretty well for the work you do. They usually have cool events that go on at the plant too where you can win prizes and money, as well as food trucks that stop by every other month or so. There's almost always overtime if you want it. The only bad thing I can really think of is that there's a lot of favouritism. If you don't suck up to managment and break your back for them then they start to treat you differently. Obviously, that's not the case for all of them, but a vast majority of the supervisors, as well as upper management, are like that.  They might switch you from your current shift to go to nights or days or whatever for a bit too, but that rarely happened to anyone. Finally, there's always room to advance in the company. There are currently supervisors and lead hands that started off as machine operators.

This place has a high turn over rate and there is a good reason for that. Management\cell leaders are poor at best. If you speak out agents how some things are run you will be punished and probably fired. If you say anything agents cell leaders or management you will likely be fired. Cell leaders have no idea how to run the place they don't even know what most peoples jobs are but are quick to complain that you are not doing what is needed but have no idea what your actually responsible for as a material handler or convenience operator. If you bring that up to anyone (HR or management) you will likely be fired. They have no real leaders in leadership roles. Other employees will mess up and blame the new people. 
DO NOT APPLY FOR MATERIAL HANDLER  OR CONVENIENCE OPERATOR.
Its fair to say this isn't a place for long term employment. 
If you are trying to get a job here try and get into shipping. Nothing out on the floor is worth it unless its for a short term. 
Low pay with alright benefits but it is easy work.

Management is horrible, they treat you like garbage and allow supervisors to do the same. They prey on people unaware of the laws. Safety doesn't matter. You're forced to find people to cover your shift for vacation or you can't take one and they force you to use vacation time for their weekly shut downs. They use a ridiculous point system, after a certain amount of points you get suspended. You gets points for things like not clocking in....even if you did but the system wasn't working. And when you bring it to their attention they don't do anything about it. Look somewhere else, you will be miserable there.

I worked at Techinal Centre from last 1.5years and I love the job and working place there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Most stressful is working at production because or roaring sound of Machines only

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its quiet good as there are some people who notice you and your work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No day is a typical day if I get a permanent hiring for Quality there.

i learned nothing i already knew
management picks favorites, if your a hard worker and stick to yourself and just do your job, you will be picked on, while others always get away with the same things your getting in trouble for.
co-workers are awesome, some will go out of their way to get you in trouble
hardest part was getting to work as the bus would make you late everyday and they point you every time your late
most enjoyable part of the job was punching out

i love going to work on a daily basics, getting along with other co-workers and love feeling a accomplishment at the end of day every day. i love learn new and options on how to in prove or quickly of parts. Thhe hardest part of a job for myself is teaching someone new who thinks they all ready own the job, or when they dont listen and they never will get ahead. the most i enjoy about my job is meeting new people and always trying to go abovre and beyond in in-proving the work.

This employer is engaged and genuinely cares about the business and its employees. This is the best employer I've had to date and am looking forward to the years and challenges ahead.

Mitchell Plastics is a great company to work for.  I’ve been here for 17 years so this fact alone should be a good proof for my statement.  I like the people I work with and the ‘family like’ atmosphere.  You always feel like you’re part of a team where everybody is pulling in the same direction.  Great management too; probably the best thing about it is that the channels of communications are always open, encouraging everyone to come forward with ideas and suggestions for improving the overall experience of working here.

Its not an ordinary material handler job. You have tons of task to do. From preparing your assigned cell, materials of the machine, cleaning each hopper or the machine and load the correct materials needed, supplying all the needs of the operators, dealing with trash attitudes cell leaders (well not all) but theres a lot even Supervisor’s attitude is terrible. If you have other options stay away from this place. If they dont like you they will find ways to fire you.
