As much as a hospital can be a very positive, uplifting environment because of the teamwork, and recovery stories, it can also be a very stressful and chaotic environment that can affect your mental health, in so many ways. I will never regret working at the Moncton City Hospital. They are trying to do the best they can to accommodate every individual – patients, staff, visitors under the different circumstances, but sometimes can fall short due to uncontrollable factors, such as lack of space, overcapacity of patients, understaffed, etc.

The amount of hours available

The lack of staff and low moral

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fast pasted, very diverse, multiple cultural 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on the day and the staff working. But mostly team oriented

This is a great position for someone who is fit and doesn’t have a bad back. You tray meals for the patients and some family members. Everyone has their own station and when the tray comes to you, you need to put your item on the tray and correctly. You then either deliver the trays or pick up trays and then do the dishes. 


Don't work there if your pride and or your self worth is important to you.If working in a mutually respectful workplace is on your list this is not an enviroment you want to be in.

I started as a Grad Nurse therefore pay was low at that time. But I gained so much experience there, it was all good in the end. From Oncology , Mom & Baby, Med/Surg, Addictions, I was blessed to have all this experience!

It’s a decent place to work pay of fair and most employees are unionized. Very good benefits for employees but management in certain departments could use some improvement. The environment is pleasant enough and team work is encouraged. 

I have only been with horizon for a short period of time, but it is a very welcoming work environment. You will be given all the training and support needed to give you a seamless transition

Working at the Moncton City Hospital was enjoyable.  Management and co-workers were a pleasure to work with and overall the hours and pay were great.  Great overall experience.

It was a great place when I worked there and I worked with a great staff as well.
