I consider my coworkers my family away from home. We look out for one another and assist where is needed. I absolutely love working for Morgan Construction, infact I am honored. Now, I don't want you to think I am blowing smoke but in these times I couldnt be more grateful to be working for a team as I do. I actually think my boss is the best boss I have ever had. No, really.working and providing for my family is of utmost importance. More so even, my safety so I go home at the end of the shift. Through tough times, the Morgan team has been here for me. There is room for advancement and furthering your career, they encourage it. The benefit program is a huge asset for me. I wouldnt be able to get my teeth fixed or my familes if I didn't have it. I appreciate every day. My family can have a life because of Morgan. I have worked here for years and plan on staying as long as they will have me. If I need time off, they always try to do their best to accomodate and if I am asked to stay longer, I do so when I can. Its give and take in my eyes. I actually look forward to going to work. Where else can you work and have an entire set period of time off? Go ahead make plans. You will even have money to pay for that holiday too! They always have a place for me to stay when I work at a site and I have a warm meal at the end of the day. Talk about saving money on groceries! I feel its the people that make me love working here. I have zero issues asking for help. My coworkers will always go the extra mile. My advice to you is consider working here, you will think you are just going to work for a few months to catch up on bills and then end up staying because you feel appreciated.

Generally my work comes in around 6:30, I would check my eSES reports first to make sure all the invoices I uploaded to the client were accepted by them.  I would then start printing all the timesheets for the men and equipment, put them in the payroll tally and the equipment in the equipment tally.  At this point after I know I'm not missing anyone or there is duplicate Unit #'s I would enter them into Spira to make a DMT.  After they are created I check them manually to the DTS and then do a pivot table to make sure everything balances and is correct.  Then I would create invoices and then scan them, I would then go into Report Manager and download the files and then attach the files I have scanned.  As the files need to be adjusted, then double checked, then upload them into a program called Ariba. I then put them onto a spreadsheet and send them into head office.  I feel lucky to have worked both in office and the field  as each has its benefits knowing what the field goes through to get the invoices with the proper information to the office and the office trying to get the field workers to supply them with the correct info, I found it very beneficial to understand both sides.

If you are looking to improve your skills and operate the most up to date machinery  , this is the company for you .
From 3D gps to learning how to pull grade by stakes you will learn it all and will be helped out by the foremen without hesitation and even the superintendents come out to the field and have a down to earth conversation and treat you like a human. 
If you want to lie on your resume and say you have 30 years experience and then asked to do the simplest of tasks and your not able to do it , well just don't bother.  Honesty is always best . Every one of us started green at some stage .So be honest. 

The summer work with Morgan is top notch,  from camping close to site and actually having a life and enjoying a camp fire with good lifetime friends and of course the LOA .
There is always work year round and as a company they are extremely good when it comes to asking for time off or even asking to work an extra shift.
All in all, I myself loved working for Morgan construction  and I'm very grateful for the help and the skills I learned along the way.

Our management team are quick to weed out the risky attitudes & low skills which helps in maintaining our high standards towards safety, team performance & project excellence. So overall I actually really liked working for them .. when I wasn’t sitting on the bus. The biggest issue I had was we we were all told to brig out cellphones for a safety meeting because of covod etc.  I was relatively new but for sure I wasn’t the only one with my cellphone that that day.  I mean 3/4 of us had them.  
I turned my phone off and put it in my bag and that’s where it stayed.  Now I look back I agree I could have given my phone to my supervisor or something. But it seemed relaxed most days everyone had a phone.  But that day I was picked out and scanned as was my bag. 
I was told by my supervisor I was doing awesome. I was asked more than once to stay for an extra week.  I really loved that job.  Just wished I didn’t loose it like that.  And for the record up until that point I had never once been fired or even written up.  
Want even given a warning just peace out your done.   

Project CoordinatorMorgan Construction Details: Labour Equality and working rights issues I have managed projects for Morgan construction and was given control over a particular project. This was a meeting and all came out really plus check. And I have to tell you all of this with the team being very supportive and the management always responded very generous on you because of all your hard work. But tragically the truth is you probably will have to get on with loads of work for ages some uni work. It's excellent company in terms of training but the relationship between the various departments isn't great. In summary, despite all the pressures, it can be a great place for career, I mean, humongous learning etcETERA.

Mechanic “I enjoy doing a whole variety of heavy equipment here, and this helps keep me from getting rusty. The shop is equipped with most tools and supplies which are required, but Access to some newer diagnostic equipment would be a real benefit. Managers know the mechanics of the job and give fair estimates for repairs. Pay is competitive but with good benefits, although shift rotation can be tiring. Co-work is cold, and others are learning to work here, you can help them, and work together to repair those difficult products. The company keeps its equipment in better shape than some of its competitors, alleviating frustration with frequent breakdowns. It would be a good match for mechanically inclined graduates who enjoy working with a team to solve problems.

I have been operating heavy machinery for Morgan at the Cold Lake site for the past three years. The type of work is quite challenging, however, you are compensated very well. Generally, the maintenance of the equipment fleet is done to a high standard, which is a big plus for both safety and productivity. The management style on my crew was very much your 'do it if you can prove you know your job' which I liked. The main problem is the cold winter weather; it makes things much more difficult. The rotation can also become a bit of a problem for a family. You have to have a very good work ethic for this one but it's a nice paycheck.

My first experience driving a 100 ton Haul Truck. The schedule was two weeks on one off which made the pay worthwhile. 

Base salary was $26 an hour with incentives and bonuses for staying with the company. 

Overall I found everyone from the hiring manager, omboarding, safety, and on site management great to deal with. They all provided me with any information I required and at no time did I feel rushed. 

The overall experience of driving these massive trucks was great. Learning opportunities, and gaining further knowledge and understanding of the mining industry in the oilsands were presented. 

Camp was decent, food was decent. Private bathrooms and showers, lots of choices at the cafeterias. 

I'm grateful to Morgan, management and all my coworkers.
