A day for me started with distribution of mail to our department's analyst, followed by data entry for various services' from the 4 biggest cemeteries in the organization, receipt of hard copies files for filing and boxing for outside storage facility and H/O's outgoing mail by the end of the day.

I learned about the process of cremation/scattering process, interment/removal. When it comes to this line of industry, people are the same in treating their deceased loved ones.

The management consists of people knowledgeable of the industry and who'd been with the organization for a long period of time. They treat employees with respect.

I have enjoyed working with friends that I have had during my stint with the company.

This workplace is a unique blend of a serene, nature-centric environment and a well-structured work setting. The proximity to nature adds a calming influence, making it a stress-free zone to work in. The job roles are well-defined and the work pressure is manageable, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The management is understanding and prioritizes employee well-being. The tranquil surroundings coupled with a supportive work culture make it an ideal place for those seeking a relaxed yet productive work environment. Overall, it’s a refreshing departure from high-pressure jobs, offering a peaceful and fulfilling work experience.

They only hire professionals as this is a very delquate business, which requires expertise. No stress with thos attributes what so ever

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start to end very busy with various responsibilities for each employee

I can't stress this enough: absolute fate. Funeral directing is a demanding career, but this company supports it's employees. 

The management is amazing. Very friendly and easy to approach. You feel empowered to make you own decisions. They truly lead by example. 

There's a reason why this company has such a low turnover. Never in my career have I been afforded this much work life balance. I really can't say anything but great things. It's a fabulous company to work for. 

If you like working outdoors in summertime, then this job may be for you. It's not stressful, and you manage your own time. The job isn't heavy, physical work compared to warehouse work. However, I recommend you have a part time job as the pay is not enough to make ends meet. 

The Mount Pleasant, York, Elgin Mills and Pickering Locations are lovely groups of people with great work environments. Little problems you'd find in any workplace. But the Les Mills and Pine Hills locations are incredibly difficult to work at. Competitive domineering staff with little chance of advancement. Hiring processes for full time jobs are an internal secretive affair and the casual starter jobs provide little hours.

Mount Pleasant Cemetery was a great seasonal position. The staff were extremely friendly, helpfull and fun to work with.

The schedule was accomidating/flexible to meet personal needs.

Personal safety while operating equipment was important and upheld, and management would go out of their way to provide Personal Protective Equipment.

While being a sensitive industry, Mount Pleasant Group sets up the staff well to succeed. Middle management is supportive and understanding. Unfortunately, upper Management is not (always) the same story. Overall, a great environment to work in. The staff really has each others back and is 110% supportive. Enjoyed my time with them overall.

Mount Pleasant Group is very much set in traditional business practices. This has its ups and its downs. While the company could use some fresh technically skilled creatives, they do a wonderful job of keeping their existing employees engaged.

When things need to get done, they need to have been finished five minutes ago. When there's nothing to do you just sit and wait for things to finish in order to have a lot of things to do. You're expected to be in three places at once, but only for five minutes. Casual employees are treated poorly. Decent compensation for a very unreliable schedule.
