The job isn’t bad, but management does know how to run a business you constantly work overtime during the week coming in at 5 am or staying till 2 am then having to come in the next week at 5 am is rough, the starting pay isn’t bad but you can’t make more there are people who have been there 15 plus year and maybe make a dollar more an hour then a new hire so no real reason to stay for long term they don’t treat long term employs well, they don’t know how to keep people they always seam to quit, they offered pizza for lunch once a week to keep people instead of increasing wages or giving people a break from overtime, you will most like be doing the same job for the first year they might train you on something else but after training you will go back to the other job and only occasionally do that new job you trained on, one of the weirdest things is they switch supervisors every week because the one supervisor is awful to work for and nobody wants to be on his shift so you have to deal with two which makes life hard cause the one supervisor could have you training that week and the next week the other supervisor has no idea you were training and never put you on that job it makes no sense they are super unorganized in that sense the only bliss is they don’t make you work weekends and the benefits are good but pay is pretty bad with minimum being 15 now but if you like working swing shift and staying till 2 am most nights the work isn’t that bad compared to a lot of their places, they just need to get a new management team in there, good luck 

- sales teams don't communicate with production teams, leading to abuse of mandatory overtime to meet deadlines
- HR and Union reps fail to stand for employee interests
- abusive management, nepotism, casual racism and sexism that goes unchecked 
- unorganized, nonexistent training, machinery is outdated and is only addressed when fully broken down, leading to mandatory overtime
- atmosphere ranges from pessimistic to antagonistic between machine operators, shifts, and management
- promises of advancement and further training when hired are not honored--employees will likely be placed in a single area and not trained anywhere else
- lower level employees face constant critique in adherence to product standards, while salaried employees continually mislabel/forget to include critical information in product design paperwork

You’ll be doing the same things over and over again. You won’t be getting good training thus causing lots of injuries. The supervisors are hard to talk to and most annoying of all you will NOT be promised a full time permanent position even if they said you would be. Be AWARE they hire and fire people left and right with zero reason. No rotation on machines and no room for advancement. Very stressful work environment with little to no safety measures. Not enough fans in summer time causing many employees to become over heated and fatigued whilst standing around. Overall a very short term and horrible place to work.

Being judged on your work proformance.

Supervisor watching your every move. Not allowed to social when working. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cutting lumber or plywood, chamfering,putting on post or profiles,,building wooden boxes,then sending to shipping to meet there deadlines.

Don't have to work hard at all

Watching others take longer breaks and us washroom for 15mins at a time some people up to 10 times a day

No one really cares there the ones that do don't get anywhere

They blame u for them not being organized

Some of the positions in the factory can be repetitive; however, there is a variety of complexity and challenge. 
Pay is decent, benefits are very good, offers pension.
Seen a few co-workers get positions in the office/millwright opportunities, but it is a small factory overall so there isn't ample opportunity to advance. 

Learnt how to operate a klammer and a presser , how to feed boards according to the design. i had the privilege of learning how to use a nail gun and how to pack  parts for shipping or finishing a product i also had the opportunity of using a few machines i had never used to before and the stuff there are very helpful.

Disorganised and unionised environment, for better or worse. Work is physically demanding and repetitive which has caused injuries to myself and others.

Great team environment  or work solo depending on the job needed. Quite repetitive work but it is constant. Job security is  ot a problem as long as you are here to work. They did not shut down at all throughout the pandemic thus far. 

Pretty fun. Easy. Sometimes boring at certain stations. Easy going co-workers and management. Nights and days available.
