NETRICOM

The local company was an extremely successful entity for the last 35 years providing excellent engineering, construction and field services in the telecommunications industry.  The BC Branch met all financial targets, schedules and project completions, out performing larger offices in Ontario and Quebec.  Long term employees (25 year +) and excellent Managers, Projects Managers, Supervisors and Field Crews were dismissed when the corporate head office forced the company into bankruptcy.  Sold off assets and changed the name of the company so it could turn the business into a technical only service company. One of the worst cases of Corporate greed I have witnessed on the backs of hard working loyal employees who were let go with the minimum of notice and benefits.

there is no typical day, it could start in the morning or late at night depending on the work. I learned to splice fibre and different ways to run cable in central offices. We as a work force had problems with the way we were managed as we were managed from afar. My fellow works were knowledgeable and helpful and we worked together with no problems. The hardest part was the working outside in the minus 30 weather which we did not have to do all that often. The best was the learning.  The reason that I quit is that I moved to another province.

Fun workplace with a diversity cultural environment. A place where any employee was striving to perform at the best level possible. I enjoyed working with the young and the old engineers and I learned a lot from them.

good crew to work with, good atmosphere, excellent work conditions.
good leadership. Good safety standards and disability benefits and flexibility work conditions.

They no longer are in Alberta.
Ok they where bought out by a company in Quebec and the where run by bean counters and had no clue about what we did.
They laid off managers like they where was no tomorrow. 
I will never work for a company that has a head office in Quebec.

working with a telecommunication is fun and learning, everything is time consuming. they are supportive with the employees, salary is good. training is very good and they really want us to learn all the company policy in safety.

Good co-workers, good job. The management is keep hiring new people, but they don't have a job. People are sitting home for 2-4 days during a week.

A very good company to work in. Every day my duty was to check emails that contained my daily work. Helping the HR work for hiring procedures. Do all the work according to instruction of my manager. Prepare the invoices for Bell canada billing.

It is a fun environment the management is great.
my day consists of checking up on my orders, placing orders, calling customers, reading contracts. 
all of my co-workers are super friendly and we all get along great!

Work is good they are paying good money/overtime pays. the only problem is there is no more LMO released recently
