Where to begin.....

Formerly know as Keane, but change in name through owners only. The policies of dealing with employees is now worse then before.

Person who recommended me to the company got ripped off by them and did not receive recommendation bonus.

I did not receive 15000 in recommendation bonuses due to me for recruiting of others.

The job I was hired for was nothing like the job I ended up being appointed to. I was hired to be a team lead, and instead found out after hiring that in fact I was not.  I functioned as the team lead, but my title was far lesser.

Was forced to work long hours with no overtime pay, and told to work through lunch in order to get work done. The official reason they fired me was that supposedly I worked lunch hours, which is against company policy, so that was the reason they let me go. BS to the max.

They mislead their clients horribly, which myself and other employees had major professional objections to.

Internal politics amongst managers borders on insane. Often it prevented actual work from being done properly for clients. 

I was fired for actually doing my job. I was asked to save a client money, and I figured out a way to save them 3 million dollars. The Employer fired me two days before the client showed up at the Halifax office so that I would not be able to talk to the client or explain any of these options to the client. 

When confronted by my manager over this I sent them a letter offering to resign from the position. The next morning they refuse the resignation and fired me instead on cooked up BS.

They would give no reason for the dismissal on the EOR which prevented me collecting any benefits or appealing it. Attempts to contact upper management and advise them of the situation was rebuffed and ignored.

The management were power mad and horribly planners. They often made poor choices that painfully impacted employees.

Employees were not well treated.  Many were let go with no reason or compensation.  Two that I knew had to sue the company to get their pay. 

I definitely do not recommend working for this company, or if you have to make plans not to stay there. 

Speaking as someone who has been in Senior level management at other companies (including my own) I cannot in good conscience recommend working for this employer.

BE WARNED

The Pros - 
When in office, they supply you, amply, with tea, coffee and whatever you like in them in mountainous quantities. They also don't skimp on cost or variety. 

They are attentive of ensuring most people are kept comfortable with their seating and desk setup programs, though it can take time to process requests, and generally encourage personalizing your small space. 

Strictness to what you can do in downtime varies project to project, as do many, many other factors. 

The location I work in is *fantastic* for commuting, and they've been wonderful during COVID in being mindful to not make staff ill. They also have done their best to be mindful of disability, LGBTQ+, or cultural needs on site.

If a contract ends, they ensure you have really good severance, and will extend your healthcare package several months after a layoff. They DO actively seek to bring back former employees if you've been a good team member.

The Cons - They ask you to do 30+ hours of training per year, minimum that, at the end of the day, is mostly meaningless. If your project closes, don't hope that taking any in house training to have any impact on placement to another project. Don't expect their training to help you advance your career. You get zero certifications from it. Any positions above you will likely require a ridiculous number of years experience you will not get stymied in the same position.

Like most companies handling contracts, your contract can be terminated at a moment's notice leaving you out of work in little time.

If you want to better your salary, or your position you have to *leave the company* in order to facilitate it. I would think a company like this one would be more inclined to elevate their own people who understand the system structures, or are at least handy, to mold into whatever need they want.

HR can be hit-or-miss. Often slow to act in situations of harassment and bullying, but are swift to act in cases of assisting in accommodation for disability or illness. 

I consider myself an experienced, well traveled IT professional, I have worked across this country and US. Hours are rediculous when you are a senior consultant. No paid overtime. Working late every day. Working off hours.  Don't know your schedule till cleint tells you when you work.  Can't plan anything outside of work.  High expectations. Management have no idea what work output employees are doing in Halifax office. Management and HR are puppets to client. No backbone whatsoever. Don't expect any support from management. Salary is ok, but there's no room whatso ever to grow.  No bonuses.  No raises.  No ladder to climb...  it doesn't exist no matter how good you are at your job.   Might be fine if you are starting out and have never worked for a decent canadian company. Such a shame. I worked there 3 years. My first year bonus was a $20 gift certificate from Walmart. I can't highlight how bad the hours and worklife balance is working for their client in the US. Stay away from this place unless you are inexperienced and looking for a sweatshop mentality. I quit due to poor hours without a new job lined up. Imagine that. Then I had my first experience with HR dept in Halifax. What a bunch of idiots. They were very unprofessional. That's how bad this place is. Hoping there is a better company to work for in Halifax. People on my technical Halifax team are fine and ok to work with. Management are clueless. They stay quiet as long as the contract obligations are met. Client said THANKS once while I worked there. Expectations are not realistic. If you are employed elsewhere stay away from this place. Peace.

I interviewed for the role of Commercial Plans Advisor in August 2016.I started in September 2016. The Senior Manager, BPO stated we would be working for a long time client that just entered into a new contract for Call Centre Services. She told me this client was amazing to work with. I suffered from major technical problems during my first two weeks on the phone. The client listened to my first call and the feedback I recieved was I was too slow and the team lead needed to coach me to speed up. FIRST CALL. They continued to provide feedback that was petty and more personal than constructive.In December, the client requested that I be pulled off the phone for more training. The BPO Team Lead told me I would be back on the phones after the additional training. I sat and watched others do the job for 2.5 weeks. No additional training. During this time, they asked me to run the Christmas food drive. At the end of the 2.5 weeks, I was not put on the phones, I was brought down to the 3rd floor and terminated. This was one week before Christmas. and a few days before my 90 days. I left a job to work here because the Senior BPO Manager told me how great it was going to be. We started out as a class of 17 and there are only 10 left.

I worked for 5 years in this company, but very disappointed with compensation. Once you joined the company, you will work for one particular Client. Client requirements are too high, because they are paying lot of money to this company. But this company will pay you very less money for too much work. 

This company is only good for newcomers, not for experienced professionals. Please think twice before joining this company. Your designation will not change. I started as a Consultant and left the company as Consultant. Forget about any senior position.

Company has to review on there Salary structure and company should find out that, why many experienced professionals have resign from there position in last couple of years.

If you are silent fish and like to live in one pond without any more desire like to go for ocean water, then this is best place for you.
In orientation, you will get fish as a toy anyway, which you can put on your desk later on.

The culture of the acquired company (Sierra Systems) was a very tight group who protected and isolated themselves, had outdated concepts and relied on new employee's for knowledge. NTT being a (Dells Services) was much better inline with the new modern IT demands, Sierra Systems was still very much catching up. Once the full merger has completed (changing the mindset of the Sierra System's middle and senior Managers) it would be a much better environment to work in, I just hope the parent company (NTT Data) can stay the course or they will start to make bigger changes (which they have started to do). The hardest part of the job was watching the same mistakes happen over and over again.

This workplace has pushed micro-management boundaries to a different level. It feels like you might not get paid if you yawn at the wrong time. You need to respect your time to a precision level that was unseen before. 

In order to go to the bathroom I need to use time from my personal break!

 For natural needs. I would like to see the supervisor do the same! We cannot disconnect 2 minutes before if you are not in a call but we need to open our system at least 30 minutes before. 

They claim that it is 15 minutes, but clearly it’s a lie. Their system is old, the only thing working and up to date is their monitoring app. We don’t get paid for the early apps opening and we don’t get paid if we get stuck in a call for over 30minutes after our work schedule. 

At the same time we are not allowed to hang up if we receive a call at the end of the shift, even if legally we can stop working. I am have been in this environment for less than my 6 months period and I am already planning on leaving.

I worked for NTT Data for four years, and with the rebranding from Keane the company declined quickly into a money making machine with little care for the employees. For a recent graduate looking to cut some teeth into an IT career path this may be a good starting place, but once you learn you will realize that there is no career advancement, no training, no raises, no bonuses and very few managers have the skills to actually manage a team.

Above managers are uncaring level of management whose concern it is to drive new business out of the client and putting higher levels of work load on the people that they already have.  They will drop a person in an instance if work dries up with no thought to the situation or the longevity of the employee.

HR is a joke, I would never work for this company again, I would not recommend this company to anyone.  Work there at your own risk.

At NTT Data, my tenure proved disheartening. Six months into the role, the company's abysmal training and mismanagement revealed their true colors. It stung to discover that newly hired individuals were compensated better than I was upon starting. It seemed like dedication and hard work went unnoticed, leaving me undervalued and demotivated.

The training was lackluster, barely scratching the surface of what was needed for the job. It felt like being thrown into a labyrinth without a guide. Meanwhile, management remained unresponsive to concerns and seemed more focused on favoritism than fostering a fair work environment. This disparity in treatment left a bitter taste, and it was clear that my dedication was not reciprocated. Ultimately, this experience emphasized the importance of fair treatment and equitable compensation within a workplace, motivating me to seek better opportunities.

I've been with Sierra Systems for over 10 years and I'd rather be here, working towards reaching our goals, than any where else.  We have great clients and projects.  I've had the chance to grow my career in ways I didn't think possible.  You can build your own brand at Sierra and be successful.  Consulting roles are never easy, but the variety of work can't be beat.  I work with great people and while we all have different perspectives, we work together to get things done.  We call employee's "career owners" and I really do own my career, I know a lot of people who don't feel that way, and they want more direction and guidance.  I think Sierra is a great fit for people who see themselves as leaders from the inside, rather than given titles and authority.
