Poor management a lot of mis communication lots of drama immaturity with managers, managers tend to choose they're relationship with who's up to they're standards lots of sale targets my discount was taken away because we're low on hours and I didn't make enough hours to have benefits very very slow after the holidays only mods get hours managers talk down to you and talk to you rudly here and there , they're very rude sometimes I'm leaving very soon didn't like the working inviroment it's all about money can't make testers because it's paid by how much the store makes so does hours ,hours are based on how much the store makes and they said hours are now based on as well I didn't find very much team playing at the store I worked at different roles and different pay for everybody ect

I had an incredible manager. District and corporate are also very caring and involved with everyone in stores and make it a point to make everyone feel valued and part of a team. They have kind   hearted beauty advisors and always give support to their employees in learning and in training at all times. Pay is very good if you are able to be a part of management and pay is nice for BAS as well but there are also opportunities to do online work for artistry if noticed by head office!!! Super great for anyone looking to follow a career that helps you also follow your dreams!! Here is the place :)

Overall, a good place to work, but it was ridiculously competitive for no reason and there were some management issues. Some of the key holders were on a power trip and acted as if they were the managers. It's a little toxic, but some BAs were nice enough. The customers are generally kind of cheap and don't know much about makeup. No commission, and competition for sales is very competitive. It's a lot of work for very little pay, but great if you love makeup. You're on contract so they can literally terminate you for no reason at the end of 3/6 months. 

A typical day at work meant working all day, all night, weekends and on days 'off.'  Corporate culture is cutthroat!  What did I learn?  That no job (especially in makeup) is worth losing your sanity.  The hardest part of the job was dealing with unprofessional millennials who think they knew everything about life, work and everything in between; insubordination and lack of respect.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the fun 'perks' associated with a brand - but most times - one had to be 'on' and essentially you were too tired to enjoy said perks or events.

I went in with an open mind and I was really excited about the opportunities of NYX. What I received soon after starting was the worst management, hardly any work life balance, the wage was okay but no benefits. There were absolutely no training and it was such a new company at the time that there was no structure and it was just a mess... and will actually take away your title or demote you instead of all the opportunity you thought there was.

The company itself does not offer anything to their employees to make them want to grow within the company. They do not offer wage increases, benefits or commission. The hours are based on the needs of the business which means that you can work anywhere from 5-20+ hours per a week. They do not value their employees. Not a great company to work for. 

Their managers in several of their locations needs better training because they are unprofessional.

- Coworkers tend to be decent
- Salaries unfair between roles, because 99% of the time the staff is doing the same job but the pay difference between roles is ridiculous
- Management depends on the store, the one I worked at they were immature and you could tell not very experienced in managing
- You have to wear makeup every single day, full face, which can get annoying

I highly recommend you go and apply for Nyx Professional Makeup if you have an easy going schedule, a passion for makeup, experience & if you are planning on, or are enrolling in college for Cosmetic management, or maybe even taking a Beauty Spa course, this  would be perfect for you to learn a lot, get even more experienced & practice your makeup skills.

The pay and hours were good when i started the hours quickly got cut and sometimes got only 3-5 hour shifts and 15 minute breaks. Management was somewhat racist, showed favouritism, and only cared for making money and not about there staff. A lot of benefits 50% off and free products everyone and then co-workers were ok some were too competitive . Was fun but stressful.

Management and upper management is an absolute joke. They treat employees like garbage and don’t care about their well being and pretend like they do. Constantly belittled in front of coworkers AND customers. Poor management leadership from store manager and constantly contradicts themselves and over all not a healthy work environment for anyone that cares about their mentalhealth
