I’ve worked for the restaurant group for almost 3 years now, moving to Nanoose Bay Cafe in June. We are a collaborative, supportive team who together create a warm, welcoming, professional and fun work environment. Our onboarding and training is fast and efficient, pay is fair and workload very reasonable. We believe in strong communication across all levels of employees and departments. Feedback is regular and support is always offered from management and team members whenever it is needed. The management team are professional, approachable and empathetic. I would highly recommend applying to work here if you’re a hard, honest worker, enjoy offering superb hospitality, and want a warm and welcoming work family 

The management are robots. Terrible work environment. I’ve served finer dining places before but nothing has ever been this strict with such minimal training. The amount of work you have to put into this job is not worth getting minimum wage and then your tips are pooled so the money sucks. I studied super hard for this job to try and improve but they were never appreciative. Their standards are just super unrealistic. They are extremely particular about everything you do. Side work would take hours after the restaurant closed. Just overall terrible place to work and I don’t recommend it. 

NBC is and has been an awesome place to work. From the every day views overlooking the marina, to the team management has brought together, it is one of the best restaurants I've worked at in over a decade in the industry. It is rare to find a team where the FOH, BOH, and management uplifts, supports, and celebrates each other, and to find a company that prides themselves on the food, service, and atmosphere they deliver to their guests. I continue to learn and grow daily at work and I look forward to continuing the journey within the NBC team

I really enjoy working here, the staff and guests are so nice. I feel really supported in my role, they took the time to teach me and provide me with more skills so I could be better at doing my job and now I feel more confident than ever.

The kitchen and the front of house team all get along so well! It really is a family environment and I get to cross train at the other restaurant and pick up shifts when needed too which is super helpful. I really like it here!

enjoyed beutiful views every day in a fast paced but chill work environment. we got a free meal at the end of our shift which was a great way to taste almost everything on the menu . chef encourages growth and will take time to teach you things you havent learned yet. the kitchen is very big and requires a lot of walking back and forth so make sure to wear good shoes. 

Management is condescending & passive aggressive, favourites are played with other coworkers & standards are unbelievably unrealistic. Kitchen staff is rude & snappy. Tips are divided unequally, senior servers get more tips than the average experienced server. Constantly changing menu items/doing promos & not training staff properly. Overall not a great experience, you will be appreciate more elsewhere. 

I have really enjoyed working at Nanoose Bay Cafe. I was welcomed with open arms with the friendliest staff. Management is easy to work with, always available for any questions I may have. Management is passionate about their service standards as well as providing the proper training so all employees feel comfortable in their role. Couldn’t recommend enough! 

I have had the privilege of being part of an incredible team for Summer 2023. The collaborative spirit among FOH, BOH and Managment  creates a fantasic work atmosphere where everyone is dedicated to ensuring the best possible dining experience to  guests. Lots of Locals and Tourist alike.

Management is unappreciative of hard work and never receptive to constructive feedback, the "team" was the worst I have ever worked for, everyone was for themselves and the most segregated regarding FOH vs BOH. 
Ego runs this business, hospitality is nowhere to be found.

Working at Nanoose Bay Cafe has been such a great experience! The management team is approachable and always able to help. The team environment is the best that I have ever experienced. It is a beautiful location and the food is amazing!
