Nautilus is a great place to start working I'd you're just starting your education in exercise science. They pay for you to become a certified trainer and put you through a pretty rigorous training to ensure you can adequately train clients. Depending on the location there are monthly check ins to improve yourself as a trainer. However, once you have your degree it is not worth it to continue there. Smaller locations make it extremely hard to move up in trainer level and the pay is really below average for the industry. I think it's a great place to establish yourself working with the general population, but the turnover rate is pretty high for a reason.

Best job I ever had, being a personal trainer is amazing! The only thing was that I got hired in July and they told me I would start getting clients in September, but by the time I passed all the exams and the training (plus I  didn't hear from them for about a month), I only started in January. At first, it angered me, but the manager was replaced and things are a lot better now. Great place to work!!

The Best part of the job is having the flexibility to manage your own schedule and client.
Howver, the worst part is that you end up doing a lot of work for free as you only get paid for the 1h session or 30 mins session you have with the client, however you won`t get paid for any preperation work or documents that need to be completed afterwards. So overall salary/hour is way lower.

I have had the pleasure to work with fantastic clients and co-workers at Nautilus Plus.  There is great enthusiasm to provide the best possible experience in a gym while also striving for maximum results for the clientele.  All of the trainers are extremely knowledgable, and extraordinarily trained.

Dealing with a variety of clients and helping them attain their objectives and their goals. Being there for them and motivating them to get their target goals.

I also dealt with the management aspect of the branch. Making sure transactions balance and the place is clean.

It was alright, fun if you want to be more inclined to go to the gym. But the pay was minimum wage and it was pretty boring (easy). Management was pretty disorganized and there is lots of pressure to convince clients to sign up or renew

You learn a lot on nutrition counselling over there, but can end up being too sales driven. You also work with a lot of trainers who have lots of opinions about nutrition. It can be hard to earn your respect in the beginning.

The working environment and the tasks to be performed were awesome. However, the manager lacks communication skills and applies huge pressure on sales reps.

Even though you are hired as a trainer, you will be put working in the reception desk, because “everyone has to do it”.
You will get a kick in the rear you are not a good salesman, which is what they are really looking for.

Overall really fun job, having discounts and free gym is a plus, the management team is helpful and they don't exploit. The members can be friendly but also there are some that not polite.
