The job is not a good environment for long term employment.

Things you'll encounter on a regular daily basis are co-workers passing off there responsibilities or workload. You'll be hired for warehouse/counter but end up doing warehouse, counter, administrative, cleaner, Inside sales etc causing an unmanageable and stressful workload.

You will encounter regular short staffing due to lack of hiring and coworkers taking days off weekly or "stepping" out for 30 to 45 minutes daily .

You will not receive regular training or support from your manager and then be gas lighted saying you were taught or told something when your never were.

You will be called rude demeaning terms periodically through the employment for co-workers amusement.

You will receive wages well below market on a salary where you work longer hours.

In short you will be paid minimum or below market wage, do the job of 5 people, receive no help from your "team" members or corporate and be treated as just a expendable dollar value or number in a corporate setting because sales and managers bonus' matter more then your health and well being.

I began my position at Nedco back in April and was immediately taught the fundamentals I would need to be successful at my job. The pay is very good and the management is very supportive of you as a worker, even when you're off the clock. They work hard and play hard which creates a great balance and family oriented vibe which I can appreciate, as I come from a large family myself. They do give you the chance and opportunity to learn, grow and move up in the company. I have witnessed 3 employees move up the ladder in my short time here. It's very motivating.

I've learned a lot about the electrical business while working at Nedco. They provide mandatory training in each category and are driven by customer satisfaction. The warehouse work is abundant even on a slow work day, the customers are mostly friendly regulars, and the management in individual branches is wonderful. The only complaints I would have is  the higher ups don't seem to consider the working conditions and actual experiences the branches face every day when making their decisions.

I would pick the metal and pvc pipes and guards for electrical contractors with the use of a forklift.  I learned about the materials used on electrical job sites.  Management was very kind and always said Hi and gave me time off whenever needed without hesitation. The hardest part of the job was leaving because I enjoyed all aspects of the job - my teammate, the materials i worked with and understanding what each piece was used for, working in doors and out, great staff and phenomenal management.

Very poorly mismanaged , and they will play favorites with the employees they like. if you are a YES person and just do as you're told you'll go far, but don't ever have your own opinion or else. no chance of a long term goal or promotion. The upper management are very two faced and will throw you under the bus the first chance they get. 
Grossly underpaid, new management with their heads in the sand. sadly they have put this once decent company on a downward spiral. 

I have worked for Nedco for many years in inside sales, outside sales and as a specialist. Like all companies in Alberta, many changes occurred in the last several years. I am happy to say the new leadership in Western Canada is very positive and I look forward to continuing to work for them and participate in these positive changes.

A typical day at work started at 8am and finished at 4pm. I learned about the electrical supply business and the different products involved with that. The management is stale and needs to be injected with new blood to move forward with the business. The hardest part was convincing them to make any changes to my client to increase sales.

Was a good place to work. would recommend you have an electrical background before applying, as your expected to provide customer service and knowledge of electrical industry would be a great benefit to your success. limited training is available from company. The industry itself is a throw you to the wolves kind of approach and you learn as you go.

There was a variety of work and responsibility.
The company provided useful training programs.
The hardest part of the job was getting there on snow days.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the people and being valued as an important contributor to the Branch success.

Not a great place to work. Constant changes with an upper management team that tends to only make false promises. Continuing to run branches with a lack of staff and expecting more out of the few employees remaining at these branches are all causes for an unhappy working environment.
