New Flyer Industries has a very fast paced type of working environment. The work phase is very dynamic which makes it interesting company to work for. Never a dull day. Management has a clear vision on where the company is going. 

Having worked for a very fast paced environment has helped me to be an exceptional listener and communicator in order to effectively convey information verbally and in writing to all the personnel that I need to interface with in a daily basis. Good communication is a key
to first time quality compliance.

It also teached me how to be a flexible team player, the one who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. Typically, I handle 6-7 simultaneous projects which requires daily monitoring to ensure that the required electrical schematic design are released on a timely fashion.

The expectations and wants in this company are extremely unrealistic. Expect large amounts of work and pressure to complete tasks in short time periods. High turnover from stress and workload says it all. 

Many of the higher management is very disconnect with how things are run and basic processes, they just order tasks but have no idea the time that goes into completing work. 

It feels very tense in the office a lot of times. Expect to hear lots of yelling and belittling of employees from management which HR and leadership turn their heads on. 

No real growth opportunities and the daily tasks are repetitive. The pay is subpar compared to other companies and the culture is not the best. Don't expect a yearly pay raise as well. 

Overall an okay place to gain some experience but not work the long term. 

having worked at new flyer industries was a great experience.i have developed a wide range of skills as a production worker.i have learned how to use a variety of hand and power tools,i have enhanced my knowledge and understanding about blueprint.i have also improved myself working in a team environment.the management is very supportive,they even provided some in-house training that is really useful to us.my co-workers were very friendly and accommodating,specially the seniors.they were very kind even to the new employee.in every job,the hardest part is the first week.but with patience,diligence and determination,everything went well.working in new flyer was very exciting and challenging.i am very happy that during my tenure,i have performed my best by being more productive and efficient all the time.

Working here has been a mixed experience. On the positive side, one of the best perks is getting off early on Fridays, which gives everyone a chance to start the weekend a bit sooner and recharge. It’s a small but meaningful benefit that helps maintain some work-life balance. The team is generally friendly, and management tries to keep things organized.

However, the biggest downside is that the workload can be quite stressful. Deadlines are often tight, and there’s constant pressure to meet high expectations. At times, it feels like there’s always something urgent that needs to be done, which can make the days long and mentally draining. The pace doesn’t leave much room to slow down or catch up.

Overall, it’s a decent place to work if you can handle stress and enjoy having a shorter Friday, but it’s not ideal for those looking for an easygoing environment.

The Publications Department has a well-documented history of bullying and harassment by management that HR and senior executives choose to overlook. Although everyone in the department is a college graduate, demonstrates a solid work ethic, and delivers quality products on schedule, they are treated like children who require continuous oversight and correction. Movements are tracked to the second using a swipe card system, and there is zero flexibility in terms of breaks, appointments, vacation days, start times, etc. The money and benefits are decent, but management is unapproachable, disparaging, and uncompromising. There are too many reasons to list why there is so much staff turnover for this position.

As a teaching learning environment, it is always easy to gain knowledge either from colleague or by reading. There is always an intent to conduct research and be more creative than any other company. 

The knowledge acquired from reading or research is always rewarding by transferring it to students and other community members in different occasions and circumstances.

A typical day involves management of bid submissions as well as contract management on awarded contracts.

I have learned about the multi-faceted nature of the aftermaket bus parts industry.

Management works consistently to provide guidelines for the trends in the industry.

Co-workers provide support and cooperation in the different aspects of contract management.

Hardest part of the job is finding enough time to get everything done.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the personal satisfaction when a contract is awarded.

Wa a good place but the HR culture is horrible. They will lie and coerce you. If your not in agreement or they decide your too costly. Discrimination against people with handicapped persons. Long as your health doesn't interfere with their operations your ok. 

The Aftermarket Parts has a well-documented history toxic environment, with a high turnover rate. Ex HR director of this department was racially insensitive (documented) and was inevitably let go. Not much room for employees to grow or speak their minds as executive leadership is run like a dictatorship. Big Hierarchy problem that trickles down to every section of the department. Not a place I would suggest for someone who values their mental health.
