New Orleans Pizza

Typical day at work would be making pizzas, talking to customers and working with my co-workers, and finishing the night cleaning up. 
I learned that customer service can be absolute terrible and also one of the most rewarding things you can learn. 
My manager was fantastic, she knew when to have fun, but also to be very serious and she worked with us, helping us with anything that may have had trouble with. 
My co-workers were some of the most interesting people, very rarely did I ever have an issue with them, and the ones I had an issue with didn't end up staying hired due to them causing issues with everybody else. 
The hardest part of the job would have to be the difficult customers that would complain about the prices of the food they were purchasing. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was the customers that weren't difficult the ones that would call back and tell me that either I did a great job with their food or a co-worker did a great job. They were the people that made this job so worth it. Also my manager and co-workers are my favourite parts of my old job as well.

I worked at New Orleans Pizza for 2 years , and because new management came in , they hired two managers for our locations in which these managers had not had any managing experience at new orleans, one in which had not even worked at a new orleans before. They would not do their managing job correctly, such as pay roll and keeping the orders in order. Also, after about 1/2 months of me working there with these new managers, they decide to fire me for no reason at all because of the 3 month probation. I did not agree with that what so ever because of the fact that I did everything I could to keep that store in order and after working there for 2 years I didnt deserve to be let go for indeed no reason. The manager had even told me she did not need a reason and they were letting me go. On top of that, they were rude all the time to us employee's. Saying she'd like to "smack us around like the old days". I was very upset because I did love my job at New Orleans. I loved the people i worked with, the constumers, the making dough, everything and I had to leave because new management came in and did not like me.

From cooking pizza, to prepping the vegetables and dough on a daily basis, to assisting customers, to cleaning the store thoroughly every single night, as well as ensuring a high standard of food-safety: I did it all at New Orleans Pizza. 
When the dinner rush hits, and the phone starts to ring off the hook while customers pile in and the online printer prints simultaneously: it starts to feel a bit overwhelming. But working rapidly, staying focused, and most importantly - working with my co-workers efficiently and co-operatively, it is manageable. 
It was so rewarding to watch a customer bite into a slice of pizza that I made, and seeing their eyes light up. When they come to the front counter, and tell me that it was delicious, it makes the stress and intensity of making their pizza as quickly and as skillfully as possible incredibly worth it.

Training was excellent as manager was very patient and instructive. I was given the opportunity to work many hours and had opportunities for advancement almost right away.  It had a very pleasant working atmosphere even during busy hours. A typical day at work consisted of preparing pizza and other foods for customers, answering phones and operating the cash register, and cleaning/generally maintaining a good atmosphere in the store.  I learned about basic bookkeeping and time-management in stressful situations (the store could get very busy!).  The only downside to working here was that it was very VERY warm!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
trying to figure out what to do when it got real busy, although that got easier as time went on, but the worst was staff using their cell phone during their shift, they could be the best worker but that phone rings and they had to answer

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was very good until,  it came under new management

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work like crazy when the rush happens 3-4 times a day then dead as a door nail for two hours then next rush would start

We always ran out of stock and were constantly sent to the nearby grocery store for more, Never taught about safety precautions such as where fire extinguishers were located or how to deal with an emergency. Verbally abused by many customers, was stalked by a customer, told by employer that they were a good customer and not to take action against it. long hours on your feet, working by yourself with no given bathroom or lunch breaks. Must pay full price for all merchandise including water which is not provided. You stop being paid as soon as the store closes, expected to stay a minimum of 15 mins working in-store with no pay after hours. No holiday or overtime pay. Sexist environment and bad ownership.

Days that I worked at New Orleans were often fast paced but enjoyable. I learned a lot about the behind the scenes work that goes on in a fast food restaurant and I gained a lot o respect for those employed in these kind of jobs. The managers at the location were respectful and responsible and tried to meet everyone's requests within reason. The hardest part of the job was the hours that you would remain standing when the store was busy. My favorite part of the job was getting to meet all of the unique individuals that were also employed at the location and the customers that would come into the store.

The management and ownership is amazing. Hard workers never go unnoticed and you are constantly surrounded by a welcoming environment. My coworkers became my family (including the manager and owner) as everyone works closely together and is always helpful and kind. I highly recommend working here as a part-time student or as someone looking to make a little extra money. 

i  liked my jod at  New Orelans, i worked with alot of fun people who made the job mush  less stressful. The nights were much  busier then the days were and at  times it was okay  gave me time to clean. my  customers were awesome I tried to learn all th regulars names and orders to make it better for them. The hardest  part  of my job was made some of the cstomers who are not from where i live. they liked to  yell and say  not very  nice things but i feel i handled it well.

Worked at this company for a long time . There is no room for advancement as most are privately owned.  
Owners are cheap , never have enough staff, always been called in or needed to stay late because of constant call ins . Stuck working every single holiday . Every weekend . Barely get 2 days off in a week .  District manager was amazing but company doesn't look after employees . Your just a number .
