New Rubber Technologies

This place used to be a bit of a dump, but theres been a change in management in the last two years and it has been an improvement since.

The job is pretty easy if a bit un-ergonomic, make rubber crumb in a mixer, weigh it out into buckets and then put it into the moulds and cook them for 5-10 minutes depending on the press, repeat till you go home, 2 people per press usually. Boring for some but not hard, we have a fair few older women working here so everyone can do the work.

Pay starts at 15 but there a recently improved incentive bonus of 2 an hour, which is just show up on time every day of that week and your paid 17/h.

Heat is the main issue, during the summer anyway. It can get unbearably hot but we have hourly heat readings during these days at a designated location in the middle of the factory (no longer at the cool supervisors desk) and heat breaks of 15-30 minutes per hour at 38 and 40 degress. 42+ you go home, and on days like that afternoon shift may just get canceled.

Overall this is not a bad place to work, the workers are cool, the supervisors are great right now, the work is simple if repetitive, and theres improvements still happening like more exhaust fans next to hot presses.

Terrible work environment caused by terrible management, terrible breathing condition health and safety is not notice to hear if you report any issues they don’t take anything serious and blame you for everything they make you overwork for minimum wage if you miss one day, you lose your two dollar an hour incentive, so God forbid if you had to go oh, because you were sick you only get I’m wage an hour and if you work 40 hours you got a two dollar incentive on top of it for every hour you work.

Curly would be a good job if you were just looking to get another job right away I see a lot of people use it as a short term but not full-time job. You are a message to stay clear and look at other places know how many years of service you work there you will not be acknowledged inside your paychecks. you get every week

Loyalty not rewarded, quality standards open to interpretation,outdated unsafe equipment & hazardous daily workspace,inexperienced management team which starts at the top . If you are an asset to the company , you'll be used at maximum until your value is rendered useless . Good place to work if you like little pay , hot fast ,dirty work with managers that have no previous manufacturing experience that will take credit for any & all information, innovations & improvements you as a employee introduce to there workplace. No commitment made after 800 plus hours of work to be a "hired on employee" . Save yourself the emotional rollercoaster & pass on this place . Tell , no ..save a friend too.

I can agree with other reviewers that this is a solid job, it could even be a good job, but major changes are needed. The company has a bad reputation, but new management is making sincere efforts to turn the place around. The problem is most of management does not have the skills or know-how to be in their positions. There is a long list of problems, but I think it can be chalked up to management and their expectations of today's workforce. 
Overall, their business model is cool, and they offer people willing to work a local way to make a living, but things could be much  better. 

This job is only good if your currently unemployed. Everyone at this job talks behind your back, and they are not clear on their rules. They are also not afraid to let you go. After a good couple of months that I thought I was doing fantastic I was let go and not given any clear reason. There seems to be some mystique  and shadyness around my termination which I can't explain. I think management has been trying their best to fix their old terrible ways but a lot of times select supervisors are really mean  and unprofessional. 

The employees will always talk smack about you non stop. They will tell other people that you have not been to work and they haven’t heard from you, even if your there everyday. They don’t care about any form of transportation issues. My car broke down and was in the shop, I was given a loaner that I didn’t feel safe driving out of town as I live in Chatham so it’s about a 25 min drive there and back. They don’t care about any of that. I was let go due a loaner being unsafe.

Horrible company to work for. Workers/management nice to your face then talk about you behind your back. If you go to supervisors about issues they are never dealt with. Job is secure if you tattletale on coworkers. Constant drug/alcohol use during shifts while on presses.


Great work life balance, I am always able to take time off to attend appointments. It’s family friendly environment and I find a lot say it without meaning it. I never feel my work comes before my family. 
Could it be better sure, but I have worked in a lot worse. I over all really enjoy my job. 

If the company had better management with people running it the company would be a good place to work but doesn’t so the place is to be avoided and the pay you get is just like the pay you would get from welfare there no benifits working there not if you got a family and bills to pay 

Management is open to suggestions and new ideas for continuous improvement.  Great team to work with.  Health and safety are taken seriously.  Always looking to grow the team
