My time at New Way Trucking was very disappointing. The management lacks professionalism and fails to create a respectful environment for employees. The workplace culture is toxic, with constant pressure, zero appreciation, and no real support for staff.

Work-life balance does not exist here. Employees are pushed to work long hours, and the compensation does not match the workload. Promises of career growth or development opportunities are often made but rarely delivered. Instead of motivating employees, management tends to belittle them, which makes the job mentally draining and stressful.

Overall, this is not a company I would recommend to anyone looking for stability or a healthy career path. The lack of respect, unfair pay, and negative environment outweigh any potential benefits of working here. If you value your time, energy, and professional growth, this is not the right place.

At start everyone is nice to you, ones you see your pay then they show they face.
You don’t get pay hours you work , only what they markdown in system. You lose your 2$ per hour safety bonus automatically, if your in yard waiting on truck or load your not getting paid.
Truck are unsafe and dirty, if you report unsafe truck and refuse to operate it, dispatch will continue to give you similar equipment (don’t forget you are not getting paid for that).
They will ask you to go quick run to Calgary and back, you will be waiting up to 8 hours for your load( your not getting paid). Save your self from stress and don’t work here 

I just applied at New Way after leaving a company that was rated top 50 best managed companies. My unit had to go in for CVI. The company was told in order for it to pass inspection the windshield needed replacing. (I had writen this up numerouse times with out it being repaired). Because our units were leased out of Penske they trusted that the windshield would be fixed once back at our yard. The appointment was made to have windshield replaced and Penske trusted us to have it fixed and put a sticker on it anyway. Once back at our yard they called and cancelled the appointment. This is only one example that no matter what company it is they are all in it for the money. The best that  we can do as drivers is to refuse to operate an unsafe vehicle.

What is the best part of working at the company?
None. Always chasing your pay. Worst dispatching i have ever experienced in 47 years. As a professional driver. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Be on standby waiting for dispatch. When given load. was running blind. Nothing dispatch pass   Points A To B.  Always sitting for next response

Not good.  No respect to drivers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Waiting all day for an answer.  Dedicated run been doing for 6 months every week one of your load given away. Leaving you sitting. Not respected

Drivers are extremely friendly and willing to help

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough work for the amount of drivers there, still hires even though not enough work,  does NOT pay orientation or any online courses need to be done on your own time, no-little communication

Stressful, feels like your on call. Don’t find out what you are doing until the later on the day before

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get your first delivery and then constantly call and see what is next. Find out what your doing the next day around 4-5pm

New Way Trucking is not a good place to work. Payroll is consistently incorrect and nobody there cares about the drivers. They lie about everything, if you question your pay or dispatch you will wait for loads, and have your assignments changed at the last minute. Dispatch definitely favors loads to their own culture drivers and brokers. New Way refuses to pay Statutory Holiday for Long Haul drivers, I'm not sure if other drivers or employees receive Statutory Holiday Pay. This is not a good place to work and is far from being a professional trucking company. 

This company should not be allowed to operate on any roads. They have the most unsafe Equipment, Drivers, Mechanic's ???. They don't have drivers that can back up, they don't know how to do SAFETY INSPECTIONS, the Trucks they have fall apart and the drivers don't care. The cabs are pig pens, they smoke in them, leave garbage in them and are disgustingly filthy. At my road test I failed the truck and put it out of Service in Under 5 minutes. Another Driver had just came back from a road test with it. I put many of their trucks out of service for Major Defects as well as the companies trailers they worked for.

You are a driver pushed to maximize productivity to enhance the corporate bottom line

Dealing with inept dispatchers and mechanics that rig stuff up rather than properly repair

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You will quit...your pay will constantly be shorted and you will spend lots of time tracking trip sheets to make sure you get paid

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
13-17 hours. More if you get stuck on a mountain during a road closure

This company is good for east indians. The owners bring them here from their country and get them to do unsafe things. They are in accidents all the time, Bad name with DOT. They will fire you in a instant. They are paranoid over the white men. 
Left a white man in B.C and made him find his own ride back to ddm. I had to get rcmp to escort me in the yard to get my belongings.They cant keep management because the owners dont trust anyone. Management even dont have anything nice to say about this company. They should be put out of business and eventually they will. Dont work for these people if your white

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing good about working for NWT. Avoid them at all cost.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a supervisor, I had no autonomy in my decision-making, every manager from every dept always overrides your decisions, and the management is useless. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor, especially when it comes to money owed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dreadful, worst days of my life.
