What is the best part of working at the company?
You have the freedom of choosing when you want to work, however you may need to also be part of other Agencies to enable you full time hours, summer time you may have more opportunities for shifts whilst covering holidays but in my experience having other agencies on your books can  enable you  more shift working opportunities.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High turnover of shift workers can make it hard finding shifts, what I found stressful most at newcross, was when people from areas out with sometimes perhaps 30 mile away would be booked for shifts when I was perhaps a mile away while being available, however things may have changed within the last 6 years since I was an employee.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great in-house training at newcross, although you will pay for this you can earn credits which covers your yearly training. Culture and environment were fine, whilst I was there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mostly 12 hour shifts, maximising your job opportunities for instance if you are able to work with Adults and Children and having both on your PVG is advantageous, allows you more shift work and having experience in both support work and care work too.

Brilliant direct line manager who motivates the team to get the best of everyone to ensure effectiveness. 
The branch management team are amazing and it’s a great office with a positive vibe. 
It’s a great opportunity to step up into a management position managing nearly 500 staff. 
Very poor recruitment process whereby it very much feels like it’s a numbers game and not about quality which then takes the time away from the branch management team having to deal with constant reports of poorly qualified and inexperienced staff. This in effect has a negative impact on our clients and the reputation of Newcross. 
Plenty of good healthcare staff including nurses fall through the net due to the recruitment team not following up on applications accordingly. 
Undervalued and under appreciated by directors and the board with unrealistic targets. 

Started amazing working for this company. Then something happened didn't have my back cared more about the contract than the staff. I knew then it was time to look elsewhere!!! Make it hard to hand in your notice. If you work in a home and decide you like it and would like to go their permanently they make it so difficult and want the company to buy you out which is a disgrace!!! Shifts available are 20 odd miles away and with children that is impractical plus if you wanted to travel that far for work you would look at relocation. Yes they pay fantastic rates of pay but if the shifts aren't there you have no income. So for financially security this job isn't the way forward at all. They will offer there older staff shifts before new staff. They will get offered the shifts before they even go on the app!!

Advertising for nurses and yet has no shifts on a regular basis.

Having worked for this company for over 10 years now, it’s disappointing to see how profits over their employees appear to have taken over. I would highly rate working for NEWCROSS some 5 years or so ago; communication was exemplary, they cared about their employees, and shifts were in abundance. Now, it’s the total opposite. Had no work for over a month now, so was forced to seek regular work elsewhere. Would NOT recommend this employer.

Corrupt company to work for, they do not care about anyone but themselves and their numbers. 

They are in it for the numbers and the bonus, not the clients or the staff. 

Terrible company benefits (non existent) you do not even get sick pay (at a care company) you work for pennies and get nothing in return. 

It is a badly run company with no morals and no actual understanding of the care industry. 

Staff turn over is absolutely astonishing.

I'm a current member of new cross , I have found them  not very supportive when your ill or some other issue arises , office staff can be very abrupt and rude at times. on call staff seem to be not very understanding and can choose when they want to give you work .
All the want is to jump when they say so and you don't ask how high  you just do it , if you don't then you get zero shifts

I enjoy working for Newcross as I can pick and choose my own hours. I work in different settings almost everyday. It gives me the opportunity to meet different people with different needs therefore I have accumulated a lot of experience along the way. The office team is very helpful, give me the advice I need when I need it. The hardest part of the job I find the long hours but I feel rewarded at the end of a shift.

Have had some issues with not being paid for shifts that have been cancelled at last minute, which I don't think is fair, as Newcross will still have been paid for the shift in advance.

I have been with Newcross for nealry 2 years - the whole time working here has been great. The direction in which the company is going is amazing. 

The opportuinites which the care staff have are 2nd to none. Pay is great, huge flexibility and full support from management.
