Register.com was an amazing place to work. There is tons of room to move up because it's such a growing company, the managers are patient, amazing human beings, and the employee values are great. It's the only call center I would ever work for and if I didn't need to move I would have stayed there as long as I could.

A typical day would entail answering phones for 8 hours of your day - so obviously if you don't like don't that, don't apply. But it's a great environment so it really makes up for it. It's very sales driven, looking to help our customers businesses grow. And they really teach you everything about the online world. I feel a lot more enlightened as to how businesses work online.

I've already said the management was amazing - as were the coworkers. I can honestly say I never really met a single person there that I didn't get along with, and they have a large and growing staff. It's a family environment, everyone looks after everyone. Motivational environment overall.

The hardest part of the job would be when you get an angry customer, but that happens in every job. And the great thing about being in a call center is a) you never have to actually see the person face to face, so it's much less frightening when they are angry, and b) you'll probably never have to talk to them again because the customer base and employee base is so large that the chances are very slim.

The best part of the job is the incentive. They make sure their employees are happy. The wages are decent and you make commission if you make sales. They look after their employees. And the managers - even the higher up managers - are all human beings and are awesome to work for.

Register.com is a great company if you love to sell andhelp people oout with personal and professional websites to help them improve their business or personal goals. I did learn alot about computers emails and websites. and it has coe in handy for my personal use, My co workers were great . we all looked forward to seeing each other each day and had lots of fun with each other .They do offer great benefits and extra comission based on sales. The hardest and toughest part of the job fo rme was the hours. They are very long and shifts are fine as long as your life allows you to work those hrs. at the time i was a single mother of 3 and working 5pm till 2am in the morning with a 20 minute drive each way. by the time i would arrive home it would be 2:30 -2>45am in the morning and wouldnt settle down till about 4 am . Then back up at 7 with the children. it was to the point it was affecting my mental health and was out off on stress leave and then dr did not allow me to go back work there. my health was more important.

Register.com is a very fast paced environment, with friendly staff and management. Working with Register.com has allowed me to gain an excessive amount of knowledge with computers, online services such as Websites and Email Hosting, and it has helped me become a better Customer Service Representative since I have learned how to control my tone, my attitude and my professionalism. Everyday there is something new to learn, whether it be about new services, or about the Customers Business. The hardest part about this job was having a very upset customer on the other end of the phone/email. Sometimes it can take a lot to turn an upset customer into a happy customer, but in the end, I always felt better about myself knowing that I was the one who made that difference.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The sales targets are not really achievable any longer and you don’t have any type of job security.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was once an awesome place to work, but working from home is a much more difficult environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on the role. Outbound you are talking to existing clients that have been marketed to over and over again. 

Inbound you are receiving  calls looking for discounts that are still much less than people want.

If I wasn’t being verbally abused by customers every day, and if some of the supervisors acted a bit more professional. I might say it’s an ok place to work.
Some people love working there, and they might be able to handle it. But I personally could not .
HR had two awesome employees that tried to help me the best they could.
 My supervisor was awesome when I moved to another department. 
They do not train you enough, or give you time to settle in before shoving you into more training that might confuse you more. But when I was about 4-7 months in. My supervisor pushed for sales way to much, and I was not told how much I would have to sell when I was hired. And the supervisor often gave me wrong information.

Working here has been an absolutely horrendous experience. I’ve lost so much money in commissions because of system issues, poor guidance from management and a pay structure that favours selling people stuff they don’t need. 

I’ve lost 4/5 pro service sales in a month because of either the system being slow, customers being told different information from different departments from what I had originally told them, to supervisors not being supportive of helping me close sales. 

I’m in the top 10 in the company but I am still only at 10% commissions, when the top tier is 25%. 

I can only say this place sucks. I’m moving on..

Several positions were available for Register.com in areas from sales, support, and website maintenance and development.  If you hit the right one, the stress levels are manageable, but like any call center position, it can be very stressful.  The local management is terrific, and it has been a pleasure to work with them.  I have learned so much over the past eleven years, from domain names and DNS to hosting and SSL, and finally moving into website development including HTML, CSS, SCSS, and PHP.  The knowledge I have gained has been the highest part of working for Register.com.

I found this to be a .com start-up that made it. I found the industry to be very cheap. The whole business is run on gorilla marketing and can be high pressure. The overall work force is young and inexperienced. If you are looking for quality I wouldn't expect it here. This is quanity, how quickly and cheap can you do your job.

A typical day would start with supervisors going for a stand up where they go over important information regarding the day. Review of the performance from yesterday and the week. 

It was a great learning experience as i was new to the sales and the place has taught me a lot on how to work with the clients. 

Management is not the best and they are not connected with the employees much. Work life balance is not as great because you could be working any shift from mornings to midnight.
