Managing the subsidized housing portfolio, which includes over 850 subsidy accounts and 110 complex needs clients.
Evaluating account history and coordinating and managing collections, which also included having to work with accounts payable and receivable. 
Assessing and recommending acceptance and/or rejection of loan/rental/subsidy applications, prepare briefing notes and reports.
Reviewing and confirming client information received on loan/rental/subsidy applications.
Administering loan and rental leases, lease violation and legal matters.
Maintaining contact with clients and providing information on adjustments and lease clauses. 
Coordinating move in/out of tenants.
Evaluating loan applications for home repair and related work
Counseling clients on financial matters, property care and neighbor relations.
Field work consisting of annual inspections, investigation of units which have been abandon, visiting Residential Tenancy (RTD) to register hearings, etc.
Coordinating with corporation staff on maintenance/repair and social agencies on tenant behavior. 
Interviewing and corresponding with the home repair program.

A typical day at work would begin with conversing with my fellow coworkers on what needed to be accomplished today. Once that was figured out we would go to the local warehouse and pick up the files that needed to be converted from their original paper file to electronic file. Once those were picked up we would work putting those files into the computer for the majority of the day. This was not the only task that we would do as there were various odd jobs that those higher up in the company would ask us to complete. From this job I learned many things such as working as a team and how if you try to do those tasks individually they would not get complete as fast or as effectively. Management treated us very fair especially when a crisis popped up. They were very flexible in our hours. My coworkers were very friendly and willing to help you in any situation.

As a summer student I was able to assist colleagues in several areas of work which provided valuable experience that I was able to bring to other job opportunities. A typical day of work consisted of half of the day as the main receptionist and the other half assisting others on applications and account maintenance. I also had the main cashier responsibility for the tenants and management.

Since it is government, filling positions takes time, and there seems to be a lot of turnover. Because of this, there is always a lot more work than there is capacity to do the work, and it is easy to get discouraged and feel like no positive change is being made. At the same time, people are kind, and for the most part really care for the tenants they are serving. There are opportunities to brighten people's day, and that makes it worth it. Pay is alright, could be better.

Excellent work environment.
Lots of opportunity to be a valued team member. Plenty of opportunity to grow, develop and learn new skills. Highly recommend this company for employment in the future. Should I return to NL area again in the future I would most definately seek employment opportunity there. 

Most days involve coordinating architectural and civil jobs in the office and on site, where I learned many things since starting with this company. Everyone is great to work with and it is nice to be able to get out of the office and get trips to Labrador for inspections.

It was a pretty good place to work as long as you minded your own business and did your duties. Pretty easy going in terms of workload. The only downside I found is that Apprentices aren't eligible for any type of coverage ie. dental, medical, vision.

A great organization to work for.  I really enjoyed my six years working for this corporation.  There were many opportunities for travel, regional work and changes in the work environment were ongoing.

Enjoyed my time working there. There benefits package is a good incentive to work there. Could use a new and younger upper management team as some of the processes are old and need refreshing.

Was not a very busy environment but still did some cool projects. Department and CEO were all very friendly and encouraged participation in social activities.
