This job provides an outdoor workplace in which the employee has to organize bundles of newspaper and deliver the bundles to houses within his/her neighbourhood. This job allows individuals to enhance their communication skills, organization skills, patience and time management skills. I did not have any co-workers other than my manager (district representative). On average I would put in 2-4 hours a day, min. 3 days a week (depending on how many houses one has to deliver to). The most enjoyable part of this job was being able to interact with my neighbours and their families. The hardest part was delivering the bundles in difficult weather such as snow and heavy rain. All in all, I did grow as a person within this job and I learned basic communication skills, which I now apply within my daily life.

I’ve been doing this job for 3 years now and I had about 90 houses when I started and currently I have around 40. The packages with the papers are always left out in the bad weather, (if it’s raining the bags get wet and sometimes leak into the papers) and sometimes not delivered on time. Sometimes the papers in the packages are ripped and misplaced. The pay is horrible because the company doesn’t pay you, instead they make you spend your own time every three weeks to “collect” the optional fee of $6 from the houses you deliver to. If they decide they don’t want to pay you, then you get nothing. Overall a pretty bad job and gets tiring very fast. Would recommend that you do it for a temporary period of time (6 months or so)

A typical day at work would be at customer service, helping customers with problems like if they can't find an item or if some item wasn't up to the standard i would be there to help them and find a common solution. customer service taught me to have patience, improve my problem-solving skills and to be friendly. The hardest part about being customer service is when customers are upset and when you try to reason with them they start yelling, at that moment you have patience and try to find a common solution that will benefit both of you. The most enjoyable part about my job is that work doesn't seem like work because you make connections with your co-workers that can't be broken. It just makes you happy to come into work and to your job.

A typical day of delivering the newspaper is to collect the paper and flyers from outside, bring them in and insert flyers into newspaper. Bag them if it's raining or snowing outside and deliver them everyday at 5. This job taught me to become responsible and to manage my time. The hardest part of the job was delivering the newspaper in the winter or when it's raining. The most enjoyable part was interacting with the people whom i delivered to.

a typical day at work would be sorting out the different sections of the newspaper then bagging them up and going to deliver them to the subscribers. i learned that delivering newspapers is not a enjoyable job especially in the winter time because nobody wants to pay you. 
the management was terrible i had no benefits or anything. 
i was unaware of my coworkers due to this being a travel job. 
the hardest part of the job was receiving the money from the people that had subscribed. the most enjoyable part of the job is when i was all done.

Although my time was brief with News Advertiser, I feel like I learned so much about how to write a story and how to appeal to the reader. It was a face paced job - brainstorming, researching, and writing for the editorial team. Through this position, I gained some great mentors, who not only brightened my day, but gave me some of the greatest advice about career goals and aspirations.

A typical day for news advertiser is making the papers when they arrive at my house then deliver to the streets I have been assigned. The hardest part of the job is delivering in the winter because its cold and there is snow. The best part of the job is meeting new people.This job taught me customer service, how to deal with conflict and time management.

honestly, I find the job to be extremely cruel towards kids because we only collected $6 from each house every 3 weeks and most of the time to customers didn't pay seeing as the fee was optional. But on top of that the news advertiser demanded 20 every time we go collecting and most of the time i barely reached $50 so that meant most of the money I was making went towards the company and not me

My experience working with news advertiser was great for a side job needing money. Although their were some difficulties like going out in the rain with just a cart, wrapping every single one of the flyers to make sure I hadn't double wrapped two of the same flyers in one, it was great and I managed to keep my customers happy and satisfied with a positive attitude.

It was good at first, where I would pack the newspapers and distribute for 2 hours on Wednesday and Thursday. But surely, it became a problem when no one on our assigned street wanted to pay us anymore, and they are not obligated to pay you. Nothing was really enjoyable about that job.
