What is the best part of working at the company?
The clients.m. Nothing more though. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They have you running off your feet non-stop, driving far distances in all weather, underpaid for the amount of work we do and if you want your vacation, don’t bother requesting  it on the app as a lot of mine were missed to be approved or denied and just left and forgotten about. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile. Clients are great though. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start your day with your first client, follow care plans, report anything you think should be reported, next client and so on.

I have learned Nightingale has incredible staff both in the field and the administration. A typical day of my work is driving to each client to care for them in the comfort of their own homes on a one on one basis. Establishing a trusting relationship with my clients and receiving such appreciation from these clients, is priceless. The most enjoyable pat of my job is the happy welcoming I receive when walking in the door! The hardest part is when our time is up.

The scheduling supervisors and management go out of their way to make sure staff are happy. They will deal with difficult clients and make changes to the schedule to suit staff's needs. The schedule changes quite often with so many staff and clients to juggle, so must be checked constantly. Travel time isn't compensated well.

The clients make the job worth wild but Nightingale is horrible to work for. You have no backup and you are on your own, management for the most part takes the side of the client right or wrong. 
Your vehicle is your own responsibility Nightingale will never ever help or cover even a portion of the expense for repairs even if the vehicle breaks down on the job they won't even help with a tow.
You spend more in gas then they give in travel pay...the list goes on.

Easy interview- they hire ANYBODY. 
Amazing clients 
Gas mileage paid is extremely low- they do not pay by the hour PLUS gas… 
Office staff turnover is high- poor work environment. When a complaint is placed, they don’t care about anything other than how it may affect office staff members. (Some office staff are wonderful but few and far between) 

I am a PSW.  For the first time, I am working for a company that highly respects me as a caregiver with skills to offer.  Nightingale listens to my suggestions and concerns and does something!!  Wage is a little less to start but if I work hard I can advance quickly on the pay grid in just one year.

I enjoy working for nightingale nursing. If prefer working one on one with clients this is the place for you. Although I work independently I always have support from my manager if any questions arise. I feel like I am truly making a difference in my client's lives. 


home care is the same anywhere. making a difference to your clients it what the job is all about! you make wonderful connections!! Typically you work on our own which makes things a bit more stressful in the event of a crisis
